The new Porsche 911 receives the SportDesign and Aerokit packages

Porsche has announced that the latest generation of the venerable 911 (992) can be equipped with a new pair of aesthetic packages that add more aggression to the whole. If you can’t wait (or afford) a GT3 or Turbo version, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has the solution for you: the SportDesign and Aerokit kits.

In the first one, focused on the design, we see a different bumper with a more prominent spoiler. In the rear, the bumper also receives a redesign that elevates the position of the license plate to make room for an exit between the oval-shaped exhaust pipes. Customers can specify the equipment with SportDesign side skirts (optionally) so that the car looks lower from a profile view.

Based on this package, the aerodynamic improvements in the Aerokit include a more prominent front spoiler and a fixed rear spoiler that invites us to think of a 911 black leg, although a “mere” Carrera is. Porsche says the parts resemble Porsche GT vehicles. According to the Stuttgart firm (or rather its marketing department), all these improvements “underline the DNA of 911 careers.”

The new Aerokit has been designed at the Porsche development center in Weissach, where experts from the German firm have worked for months to achieve the perfect balance between form and function in each of the components. The young American company Czinger Vehicles, without waiting for the live premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, has fully unveiled its first model – a hybrid hypercar 21C, the body and chassis of which are made on a 3D printer. Its power plant is built around the original gasoline “biturbo-eight” with a displacement of 2.88 liters.

Czinger Vehicles, which was born just a year ago and based in Los Angeles, is ready to hit the world with the most high-tech, in its own opinion, hypercar. Czinger Vehicles were founded by innovative entrepreneur Kevin Singer (a company named after him), formerly known in narrow circles by another startup – Divergent 3D, specializing in additive manufacturing technologies or, more simply, 3D printing. In 2015, Divergent 3D introduced a prototype Blade hypercar with a body made up of elements printed on a 3D printer, and the Czinger 21C is an attempt to monetize a new way of producing machines: volume printing gives not only incredibly beautiful, lightweight and durable parts, but also has amazing flexibility, allowing for relatively moderate money to produce exclusive cars.

Conceptually, the Czinger 21C repeats the Divergent Blade: it is a twin mid-engined hypercar with a tandem landing, but the 21C has a more modern hybrid power plant. Czinger claims that it has developed on its own a high-revving 2.88-liter V8 with a so-called flat crankshaft and two turbochargers. Its maximum power is 950 hp. at 11,000 rpm. The internal combustion engine is docked with a compact 7-speed sequential gearbox, and a hydraulically controlled multi-plate clutch is installed between them. This power module is responsible for driving the rear wheels, and the front ones rotate two individual electric motors, which are powered by a lithium-titanium battery with a capacity of 2 kWh located in developed rapids. The rotary engine generator is responsible for their charging. Regenerative braking also, of course, “feed” the battery. The maximum total power of the power plant is 1250 hp.

Maserati MC20: a preview of the next Italian supercar

We all remember with nostalgia that Maserati MC12 that surprised the world in the 2000s. The Italian brand has confirmed that this will be the name of its next supercar, which will make its debut at the end of next May. The name Maserati Corse (MC) is repeated and is linked to the year of its launch, which also wants to mark a turning point. In this case it also means a return to the world of competition, following the trail that the aforementioned Maserati MC12 already left behind when it came out in 2004.

Although there is nothing confirmed, it is expected that there is a version of the supercar for the World Endurance Championship, which opens regulations. Although we are more interested in the street model, a copy that is expected to arrive in a limited way. There are no official details about this future Maserati MC20 but it is foreseeable that it has a new mechanics developed by the brand, since the conclusion of the use of Ferrari engines has been talked about for a long time.

The only thing that seems confirmed is that this future supercar will be manufactured in the mythical Viale Ciro Menotti plant. These facilities have received a succulent investment to be able to modernize the production lines and also to house electrical mechanics, another key in the future of Maserati. Car miniatures have been with us since the automotive industry exists. And the world of modeling is based on the detailed scale, after all. We know that there are infinite sizes and qualities, many of them really incredible. But believe us, this Audi RS 7 Sportback from 2014 to 1:18 may be one of the best models in the world.

The YouTube channel Modell Lichtsysteme picked up an already existing and incredibly detailed unit and has installed a lighting system that, in other words, matches those of the real-world vehicle. In fact, the level of finesse is crazy. The headlights are not only fully functional and have their respective turn signals (brake and reverse), the front is capable of adopting a cold blue tone, while the position ones get a warm color.

Inside, the level of detail is exceeded again. The instrument cluster is illuminated, as is the (real) screen of the infotainment system that replicates the one used by the saloon in 2014. There is lighting in the space for the feet, in the trunk, on the door handles inside and outside and ambient lighting throughout the interior. Even the center console and the dashboard have the different switches, buttons and dials dyed in red.
But the guys from Modell Lictsysteme also added more little things besides the lights: carbon fiber decals, brake modifications or custom wheels. The entire lighting system works through magnetic switches hidden in the body of the model. But the magnets do not turn on all the lights. When opening the doors, the interior light of the ceiling is activated, while when opening the trunk door, the corresponding one is switched on.

The truth is that this YouTube channel has quite a few videos where cars like a BMW M5, a Ford Mondeo, a Lamborghini Aventador and many others (and with bases of all kinds of replica manufacturers) receive full updates with new lighting elements. It seems like little of that, but it is something that greatly helps cast models look much more like their real-world counterparts.
