Subaru has announced a new crossover for Europe: Forester-sized, Toyota’s brother

Subaru will offer Europeans an all-electric SUV. Details are promised to be revealed next year, but it is already possible to get the first idea of ​​the upcoming new product, thanks to the announcement of another Japanese company – Toyota.

Michelin aims to increase fuel efficiency

French tire manufacturer Michelin has launched the Wing Sail Mobility (WISAMO) project which includes an inflatable wing sail system designed to boost the decarbonization of shipping.

The WISAMO system is a joint venture between Michelin Research & Development and two Swiss inventors with a goal of reducing CO2 emissions in the transport sector.

According to Michelin, the system can be fitted, as well as retrofitted, onto most commercial ships. The inflatable wing sail can improve a vessel's fuel efficiency by up to 20 percent.

“The advantage of wind propulsion is that wind energy is clean, free, universal and totally non-controversial. It offers a very promising avenue to improving the environmental impact of merchant ships,” project ambassador Michel Desjoyaux said.

Mini prepares for next-generation Countryman: crossover will be registered in Leipzig

The SUV of the British brand, owned by the Bavarian concern BMW, will once again change its generation in 2023.

Mini introduced the current second generation Countryman in 2016. In the spring of 2020, according to the manufacturer, this SUV accounted for a little less than a third of the brand’s total sales worldwide. Sales of the model in Europe are going well in general: so, according to Car sales base, in 2019 dealers sold 56,629 copies in this market (1.6% more than a year earlier). “At present, our industry is almost wholly reliant on fossil fuels. To achieve our zero emissions goal, we will need to switch to new fuels and require the support of governments and regulators to enable this major transition in the cruise industry,” Linden Coppell, MSC Cruises’ Sustainability Director, stated.

Ford Mustang Mach-E confirms range: slightly short of Kia Niro EV

The American brand’s electric crossover production started a few weeks ago.

The first independent electric car of the brand was the Ford Mustang Mach-E (“green” versions created on the basis of gasoline models do not count). Recall that “Mach” in the name is a reference to the name of one of the most powerful modifications of a sports car (produced in the 70s of the XX century), and “E” indicates that the car belongs to electric cars.

The presentation of the novelty took place just over a year ago as part of a special event in Los Angeles. The SUV has a coupe-like body, a plug instead of a radiator grill, on which the trademark of a classic Mustang is visible, and it is also located at the rear of the car (there is no Ford “blue oval” on the car).

Mustang Mach-E has LED headlights, panoramic roof, recognizable lights, made in the style of a sports car. There are no traditional handles on the doors: they have been replaced by buttons on the pillars (the driver or passenger needs to press them to open the doors and protrude slightly out of the openings).
