that's why people must buy safe products from reputable sources. We can't still but do with power bank in a country where electricity is not stable, and getting connected to people and info around the world is a must.

Buy power bank from shops with good reputation, never purchase from hawkers and roadside sellers.

More importantly, don't use power bank in a stuffy environment.

Stay safe.

Igbo made power bank in South-Africa?

For those saying " thank God, I don't use power bank" ...or. "I won't buy power bank again" ... and all that, that is not to say U have avoided what can kill U in life. There is risk everywhere, even in your favourite food or drink. Was it not through Orijin somebody was drugged and butchered like an animal? Save me all your hypocritical Nigerian mentality which is mediocrity. It's nepa or phcn wahala that brought us to all these issues.

If You guys really want to buy POWERBANKS, buy from Samsung stores or other branded names like that. They are more careful and its easier to sue them if u get accidentally burnt.

Aha! As for the guy, I thank God for sparing his life , for it did nt happen close to a soldier looking for terrorists to shoot cheesy

See what I just found on Facebook, guys. South African Neo Rantele Kuaho was literally set on fire by his own power bank. Please be very careful when you leave your powerbank in your pocket. Beware. More pics after the cut.

that device is dangerous, i think i'll prefer to be carrying UPS with me rather than that unstable device...

Try it first.
Re: Power Bank Sets Owner On Fire (photos) by kingsleyuk2003(m): 5:54pm On Aug 01, 2015
A phone with a battery could be as dangerous as a power bank. Because power bank contains battery as your phone. even Some laptop dey catch fire too (you can Google it). A phone battery is like your power bank. So if you are happy of not buying a power bank, or you want t throw away your power bank, then you should throw away your phone and laptop too.
