The Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has denied being owner of the proposed Badagry Dry Dock Project as being speculated in some quarters.

The organisation said the speculation was false as Nigeria LNG was not the owner and was not investing in the building of any dry dock.

Nigeria LNG, it said, has a singular business focus – processing and exporting LNG, and has no interest in investing in a dry dock anywhere in the world.

The owner of the proposed dry dock in Badagry is a consortium of other Nigerian companies under the name of Badagry Ship Repair and Maritime Engineering Company (BSMEC), which the NLNG is not a part of.

According Kudo Eresia-Eke, general manager (external relations), NLNG, in a press statement, NLNG’s only interest is and still remains, encouraging investors to consider building dry docks in the country to save the nation’s foreign exchange and save local ship owners, like ourselves, the trouble of having to go overseas for dry dock services.

“Nigeria LNG would thus be pleased to see more dry dock projects emerge in different parts of the country, but will not be investing in any. It is thus fair to add that not being an investor in dry dock, NLNG cannot dictate to investors where to site their projects,” according to the statement.

The company has therefore appealed to those who are issuing threats based on wrong information to review their position in the light of this clarification. Besides, threats can only discourage other investors from coming to the region.

It assured those agitating that the NLNG remained a good and valuable corporate citizen helping to build a better Nigeria.

What the youths need to ask is why these companies prefer to set up in Lagos rather than Bayelsa or Rivers. What does Lagos have that they don't have that inspite of the population density, high cost of living, competition and taxes they still choose Lagos?

These questions is the only thing that can help to bring these companies to the Niger Delta and have them invest there....

There has to be clear plans based on
Security
How friendly/receiving the hosts are
How the leaders of these communities are to the companies
Is the state willing to give tax holidays and free how are they sure that they wont wake up tomorrow and some "militant" wont kidnap 5 of their workers and threaten their investments...

When these are asked and answered, the state governors have to start employing lobbyists in various companies. They have to look at trade fairs and expos across the world to attend and showcase what they have and the concessions they are willing to give to investors
They have to be able to meet these investors and convince then to come take a look and hopefully, you wont have to threaten people to invest.

Threats wont bring investments, rather it will chase away investments

You forgot to add the perennial hostile inter-minority tribes rivalry angry
Remember how the Ijaws frustrated the groundbreaking of a FG multimillion dollars gas project in itsekiri domain due to such deep seated animosity talk less of private investments.

*sighs*

The most annoying thing is that if one points it out, people go on the defensive and say we hate the zone and BS like that
