The school does not make sense ,many roads inside d school are filled with potholes ,the back gate is very bad when it rains.The school is not planned very well,no staff quarters just a few building and d hostels ,every other thing is green pastures that will be good for grazing cows . Tell your VC ,Prof Ahaneku to do more ,ordinary to peck a girl and they will start asking you questions yet they called it an university,it is fu-----ingly over rated.

I think unizik is developing fast. Unizik moved to Dia Permanent site in 1992, now don't compare unilag, oau, and d rest to Unizik. Doz schools have been in existence for so long compared to Unizik.

You are not entirely correct, Unizik actually moved fully to the permanent site around 2004 under Prof Ilochi.
It is worthy of note that all the pictures posted by the OP with the exception of the administrative block and tower, were built in the last 11 years.

Those who are making noise about unilag should be ashamed of themselves. Infact, the first time i visited unilag, i was very disappointed, dilapidated structures every where, congested buildings with no space. The reality is that most of the structures in unilag currently were built many years back. Infact unilag is over rated.
But seriously speaking, Unizik is one the fastest growing second generation university in Nigeria. I can assure you that the rate at which Unizik is growing is faster than that of Unilag considering when both of them started and access to funds. It is worthy of note that Unizik has not been given the 500 million naira take off grant promised them by the federal government under IBB in 1992, which other universities received. Yet Unizik has made tremendous progress in the last few years.

The structure is a little bit ok but how i wish the word beautiful can be removed from the description of the school.

The landscape is just zero. And beautiful lawns goes hand in hand with structures...

Our Nigerian universities could be better.

Compare this to Unuversity of Pretoria or Jo'burg (lets not even go too far by comparing it with a U.K or U.S university), you would be ashamed.

Unizik looks very dirty and unkempt.

See weed struggling the road with motorist.

And this is just a mirror of what most Nigerian universities look like.

Just google universities in better countries and see d difference.

Clean lecture and hostel buildings, neatly cut lawns, tarred roads, e.t.c

But what do expect from ours when corruption, bribery (sorting) and exam malpractice has become the order of the day

OMG, is this really UNIZIK? Now I know why the students celebrate like animals after their degree exams. Doesn't look the least like a tertiary institution, almost like a conservative area for wildlife, a ZOO. No beautification whatsoever and I bet these are the best parts of campus. SMH...

AWKA — THE Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has emerged winners of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Imperial Barrel Award competed by African universities.

The university came first, scoring 79.33 percent, while Helwan University, Egypt and the Federal University of Technology,Akure came second and third respectively.
