It is a lesson to everyone. Do not borrow money. Do not pledge your property for a consumption loan. The bankers who lent you the money make it impossible for you to pay back and will eventually acquire it at give-away price. This has traditionally been the trick of the Jews.

Borrowing isn't bad. Borrowing for a consumption loan is what is bad as you have rightly said.

Aren't you aware that it is money you use in making money. Go and ask Dangote. All the cement plants he's opening all over africa, do you think its his personal money he's using? The ability to pay as at when due is what should be considered when borrowing.

why show ur level of understanding, nobody has grown wealthy on his own money. even the Dangote do not use his money for a new project, he seeks for loans and investors. the Multinational oil companies seeks for loans for their projects.

Getting loans are sure means of creating wealth. the problem is using the money for a venture that will not work out.

I try to save 20% of my annual pay, 30% for recurrent expenditures, 40% for loan servicing and the rests for Jollying.

I seek out more loans and even save where I can get a loan and use my savings as a collateral.

While I agree with your assertion that one should not pledge property for a consumption loan, the statement that banker is more interested in selling collateral than customer repayment is wrong. Recovery of bad loan is a difficult task, it seems to be most difficult aspect of banking. Most times, value of collateral is not always enough to liquidate the outstanding loans (principal +accumulated interest).

The banks ought to have done this before publishing the names.

Why wait till this time before acting especially for the loans that were well-collaterized?

A man is owing you, his business goes bad and he is unable to pay but he has collateral. You now go ahead to publish his name in the papers and still sell the collateral to recover your money.

Owing a bank is not a crime especially when you have the willingness to pay and the amount is covered by your collateral.

You understand banking and you are dead right.

How do the banks make it impossible to pay back loan? I think we need to look inward and see the problems, we just like to owe and don't like to pay back period... how do yoi explain people that acquire loans for business, only to start flexing around without doing the business or the project that the money is intended for
It is not the bank bur the people that requested for the loan.
