Specialist900:

1. 0 is a figure and can't be discarded. Ordinarily, I'll say the answer is - 6.

If we were to tweak the question like (a) 3 + 3- 0 =
(b) 3 - 0 + 3 =

We'll have different answers.

We're all here to learn

No brother. Zero is a figure and a number too but has no value and it is used as a reference point - signifies the change from positive to negative and vice versa.

To your second statement:

3 + 3 - 0 is as good as removing the zero because it has no value.

On the hand, always note that a sign always precede a value. For positive numbers, the sign may not be displayed unless another number appears before it. For negative numbers, the negative sign must be displayed before the number. These signs indicate the magnitude.

With this in mind,
Note 1:
3 - 0 + 3 = 3 + (-0) + 3 = 3 + 3 = 6

Note 2:
3 - 0 + 3 = + 3 + 3 = 6.
(+3 - 0) + 3 = 3 + 3 = 6

I) Zero has no value.
II) Note the sign and its relationship with the number it precedes.

it's clear now grin

bro if u kw wia I skuled u'l keep quiet. Bodmas is just being elaborated hia too much. Bodmas come into full force when u have fractions and various Addition, of, multiplication and brackets in an expression

Oga I see why u said i would not talk grin u funny die. Keep up the good work shocked shocked

tushwolz u be mumu. Use bodmas solve dat nonsense wey u write 3+3*3 it is still 12. Obviously na bodams u learn for ur stupid school.

Sydraay....u just showed ur level of illiteracy.... I don't think a well tot literate will just go on social media insulting pple u don't Knw.....anyways take it or not u can't stand my bodams mathematics with another 5yrs or mathematics study.......go learn morals first before u come talk maths with me.....

Is this still an issue?
I see people are really getting this wrong.
FYI: -(3+3) is not = (-3+3), the later is correct and the answer will never change from 12 no matter how YOU argue.
3+3*3-3+3=3+9-3+3
=12
You may want to use stones or sticks to work it out if you are still confused (just like in primary school)
grin

all night long son and i was saying 6 he said 12 then thought it was pemdas ( please excuse my dear aunt sally) parenthesis (brackets), exponents, multiplication (which are equal) addition then subtraction , but no it's equal as well and that means you would go in order from left to right making the answer 12

Steps to simplify the order of operation using BODMAS rule:

First part of an equation is start solving inside the 'Brackets'.

For Example; (6 + 4) × 5
First solve inside ‘brackets’ 6 + 4 = 10, then 10 × 5 = 50.

Next solve the mathematical 'Of'.

For Example; 3 of 4 + 9
First solve ‘of’ 3 × 4 = 12, then 12 + 9 = 21.

Next, the part of the equation is to calculate 'Division' and 'Multiplication'.
We know that, when division and multiplication follow one another, then their order in that part of the equation is solved from left side to right side.

For Example; 15 ÷ 3 × 1 ÷ 5

‘Multiplication’ and ‘Division’ perform equally, so calculate from left to right side. First solve 15 ÷ 3 = 5, then 5 × 1 = 5, then 5 ÷ 5 = 1.

In the last part of the equation is to calculate 'Addition' and 'Subtraction'. We know that, when addition and subtraction follow one another, then their order in that part of the equation is solved from left side to right side.

For Example; 7 + 19 - 11 + 13

‘Addition’ and ‘Subtraction’ perform equally, so calculate from left to right side. First solve 7 + 19 = 26, then 26 - 11 = 15 and then 15 + 13 = 28.

These are simple rules need to be followed for simplifying or calculating using BODMAS rule.

In brief, after we perform "B" and "O", start from left side to right side by solving any "grin" or "M" as we find them. Then start from left side to right side solving any "A" or "S" as we find them
