1. Esut, established as a non-residential multi-campus institute, on establishment the University which was conceived on a presidential model after Harvard University made impressive land-marks and stamped it's name.

2. Esut is the first University of Technology in Nigeria.

3. Esut is the first State University in Nigeria.
.
4. Esut main Campus was @ Enugu, and other campuses @ Abakiliki, Awka and Nnewi. Whereby;
Abakiliki Campus housed Vet. Medicine.
Awka Campus housed Agricultural Sciences, Law and Social Sciences.
Nnewi Campus housed Medicine and Dentistry.
Enugu main Campus housed Engineering, Technology and Management.

5. Following the creation of Enugu from Anambra, the the then name ANATECH was changed to ESUT.
At that time, the two former campuses of ASUTECH @ Awka/Nnwei became Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka(Unizik).
While the campuses @ Enugu and Abakiliki formed Esut adding another college NSUKKA.
Formed these:
Enugu Campus- Engineering
Abalikiki Campus- Agriculture
Nsukka Campus- Applied Science
Abakiliki Campus- Health Sciences.

6. Ebonyi State was then created from Old Enugu and Abia States in 1996. The Abakiliki Campuses became Ebonyi State University, Ebsu.

7. Esut then re-established a new College of Health at Nsukka, untill 2005 when it was relocated to Parklane, Enugu and named College of Medicine Esut.
