The Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisah Metuh.

His suspension followed one allegedly handed to him by his Otolo Nnewi Ward I, ratified by his local government – Nnewi North.

A statement signed by the Publicity Secretary Kenneth Arinze and Victor Osy Ezenwa, Basil Ejidike (secretary), Dr. Maduka Nwankwo (chairman, South), Kelue Molokwu (vice chairman, Central) and Chief Osy Chinwuba (chairman, North), alleged that Metuh embezzled party funds.

The statement reads: “Following the suspension of Chief Olisa Metuh by the Otolo Ward 1 Nnewi of the PDP (where Olisa hails from) and the ratification of same by the Nnewi North Local Government chapter, the sState executive committee, after assessing the weighty allegations against Olisa Metuh and finding them heinous, in compliance with the PDP Constitution, hereby, ratifies the suspension and forward same to the National Working Committee (NWC)”

But, Metuh cannot be sacked at Ward, Chapter or state levels. A national EXCO member can only be disciplined by the National leadership.

They should wait for his tenure at PDP national level to end first or better still prevail on national leadership to sack him as spokesman first before they can execute their own side

On the contrary,its even the ward that has the proper authority to suspend or sack.National executive just has to ratify or overrule but national cannot sack without the ward because all members are registered at the ward levels.

If PDP harbors any faint hope of remaining relevant,it must sack the nwc and elect new executives that are as untainted as possible.It would be difficult finding such people in the PDP but they can try.
But if d PDP carries on with the way it has done things these past years and the utterly useless and corrupt bunch foistered by GEJ, then its burial as a political party would just be a matter of time.

The crisis rocking Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may be far from over, as its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olsa Metuh, has been declared suspended by the party in the state.

Metuh has also been declared as an undesirable person and had also been reportedly excluded from all activities of the PDP in the state.

Surely we need an opposition in our polity but PDP is definitely not the kind of opposition we need- one whose utterances are purely centered on ethnicity and religion.

They boasted they are gonna trample on the long suffering masses for 60years, as they fed fat on state resources, but here they are today struggling for survival barely two months after being kicked out. They predicted APC isn't gonna see a day after its formation- that it is an association of strange bed fellows- but here we are waxing stronger by the day as they fight for dear life.

When Obasanjo wanted to renounce his membership of the PDP to whom did he seek authority from?
