Fellow nairallanders,

I need your sincere and matured contributions to this scenario. It happened to a brother. His brother - inlaw accused him of not calling him to appreciate him just almost immediately after the marriage ceremony when the couple supposed to be preparing for thier honey moon, just according to what his wife told him a day after the wedding. Actually, the brother-inlaw was reffering to his ups and down during the ceremony in which many people were involved from both families. His mother-inlaw was the one his brother-inlaw actually reported him to and then was later passed to his wife. Please nairalanders do you think this attitude of the brother-inlaw is right towards his new sister's husband? The marriage is not even up to a day!

It is still early nah, I'm sure the couple is yet to settle down.

No time to apportion blame, the newly wedded couple should call him and "send" their appreciation or if they don't live far from each other they can pay him a visit.

he should just call the brother in law and appreciate him and even joke with him. little rifts like this might go a long way in spoiling their relationship. he gave his all during the wedding he should be appreciated. no big deal it wont remove anything from the husband.

thank God he even spoke his mind. what if he didnt and he starts causing issues in the family and you will never know why. let peace reign

The brother-inlaw am talking about is the immediate younger brother to his wife o, he went to report him(husband) to his wife"s mother instead of his sister. What impression was he trying to spread?

He should call his brother in law to appreciate his effort. yes. Then he should avoid him like a plague! No need to tell his wife why.

The so - called BIL has entitlement issues. As far as he's concerned, the newly wedded should be at his beck and call!

The so-called Brother-in-law must be a jobless person.

The brother inlaw is just being childish & insensitive.as long as the new husband has called the wife's parents to appreciate them, then the matter is settled

The new husband should apologize to the BIL playfully still retaining his respect and avoid the BIL going forward.

Na minus one be that.

If you think no one is good enough for your child/sibling, kindly marry that person yourself.

Enough of all these overbearing in-laws.
