When modern aircrafts "disappear" in bad weather and on approach (the most dangerous part of flight after take off) then it's not usually good news.

Planes disappear "from radar" because they've lost ALL electrical power, even backup power, to the transponder. That means a crash, a terrible high speed frontal crash with no hope for survivors.

This is weird

Is it not possible for planes to turn back on sighting bad weather ahead and thus avoid this kind of calamities. I think this should be a way out of this danger, instead of the pilot forging ahead believing he can fly through. Very sad indeed.
