Villa is one of the hardest working front players you'll find.
Maybe slightly less than Rooney and less than Tevez, other than that you're struggling to name names.
He works harder than Torres for sure.

And Villa isnt a player who just scores goals from scraps and doesnt get involved in the build up.
His passing ability for a striker is peerless. In the Euros he dropped into Spain's midfield and didnt look out of place next to fantastic passers like Xavi, Fabregas and Iniesta. And he linked that midfield to the attack where Torres was leading the line.

A few seasons ago he managed 11 assists in the league which was the most of any player that season and as many as Dimitar "Genius" Berbatov has ever managed. Not that he has quite the vision of Berbatov or Rooney, but he sees and plays a pass better than any other striker of his type except maybe Henry as he played a similar role for Arsenal.

Even more than that, he tackles back. Sometimes rashly like Rooney. He recently got sent off for two yellows and he's always battling it out rather than letting others do it as you're suggesting. Are you sure you've actually watched him over an extended period? Because it doesnt sound like it at all.

The defence of La Liga teams are so poor it's a field day for strikers in Spain.

Nope!! Torres is excellent.
He is by far the best out n out striker in the Premiership but David Villa makes him look like an amateur.

Villa won the golden boot in Euro 2008.
He scored 4 goals in 4 games. . . . . .If he had stayed fit throughout, he woulda scored 7 goals.
Villa hasn't failed yet to score 20+ goals for the past 4 seasons in a team as shitty as Valencia.
Imagine what he would do at Arsenal or Man Utd.

I'd take Torres over any other striker at the moment. People say that Villa is a more complete striker but I disagree. Torres has a two sweet feet on him and is one of the best headers in Europe. His presence makes defenders falter and is much faster than Villa. however Villa's ball-control is better but face it: great strikers like Raul, Inzaghi, Shevchenko, RVN,etc didn't need exceptional close control but good positioning and swift decisive finishing.

Torres can score near-impossible goals and tends to do better in big stages. Villa is a superb player though.

P.S; Eto-o deserves a mention too Ibrahimovic could be pathetic in big games.

Any defender who think he is good should go to Spain. See what they turned World footballer of the year Canavaro into.

Hmm i would definitely pick Eto'o then Villa and Torres i can't exactly say who is better that's very tough 2 seasons ago i would have given it to Villa hands-down but since Torres came to Liverpool he really really stepped his game up but Villa is a very classy finisher his goal against England is a testament to that fact so in a margin slimmer than Nicole Ritchie i would give it to Villa

The poster says "on current form,"and besides eto's form in the last two seasons was hampered because of series of injuries he sustained.
without setbacks in form of injury,eto is a goal machine.he is a complete striker that has alot of passion for scoring goals like Inzaghi.
