that there are some igbo minorities in Niger Delta does not automatically make Niger Delta an Igbo Nation or Even part of Biafra.
Just as the sizable numbers of Yorubas in Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Edo and Delta states does not make these places Yoruba land. The Hausas cannot claim Ghana and those countries that has a significant Hausa population.

The Ibo dilemma is that their 5 landlocked states surrounded entirely by Nigeria is too small and not a viable country.

So they want to swallow SS but she is bigger and more economically viable than SE.

Further SS are mindful of Ojukwu's debacle and don't want to be tarnished by association.

Not true, my NL bestie (ammyluv2002) is a full blooded Igbo chic. A PDP member and a Jonathan lover. She has gotten over it unlike most Igbo PDP folks and is indifferent about Biafra. You keep seeing her posts on restating that she's a Nigerian and she's going nowhere (I'm sorry for the mention, Dearie). Not just her alone. My childhood friends (two sane Igbo guys) and I went out today. At some point, we involved politics as "men's talk" but guess what? Both clearly stated they have no affiliation with Biafra. Worst of all, they claimed it's a movement for "grudgers".

Shachris, I cited ammy to oppose your assertion. Read through her posts to confirm this. Jonathan is from the SS but I gallantly voted against him. The election was never about geo-political zoning for me.

My problem with Biafra is simple; do not rope the SS in on your struggle. Face your battle alone. My advice to them is direct; war would only result to more casualties. There is a way, a better way to get what you want.
Lolz.....*Blushing* Oga, well said!

Many Amerindian minority languages are spoken throughout Brazil, mostly in Northern Brazil. The main indigenous languages are: Apalaí, Arara, Bororo, Canellla, Carajá, Caribe, Guarani (also in Paraguay), Kaingang, Nadëb, Nheengatu, Terena, Tucano and Xavante.

One of the two Brazilian línguas gerais (general languages), Nheengatu, was until the late 19th century the common language used by a large number of indigenous, European, African, and African-descendant peoples throughout the coast of Brazil—it was spoken by the majority of the population in the land. It was proscribed by the Marquis of Pombal for its association with the Jesuit missions. A recent resurgence in popularity of this language occurred, and it is now an official language in the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira. Today, in the Amazon Basin, political campaigning is still printed in this Tupian language.

Despite the fact that Portuguese is the official language of Brazil and that the vast majority of Brazilians speak only Portuguese, there are several other languages spoken in the country. According to the president of IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) there are an estimated 210 languages spoken in Brazil. Eighty[citation needed] are Amerindian languages, while the others are languages brought by immigrants. The 1950 Census was the last one to ask Brazilians which language they speak at home. Since then, the Census does not ask about language. However, the Census of 2010 will ask respondents which languages they speak, allowing a better analysis of the languages spoken in Brazil.[14]

At least one of the indigenous languages, Nheengatu, became an official language alongside Portuguese in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira.[15]

Language in Brazil

Language is one of the strongest elements of Brazil's national unity. Portuguese is spoken by nearly 100 percent of the population. The only exceptions are some members of Amerindian groups and pockets of immigrants, primarily from Japan and South Korea, who have not yet learned Portuguese. The principal families of Indian languages are Tupí, Arawak, Carib, and Gê.

the joke is on your bro. Even the Nigerian Government recognizes this face.

Abuja – Aminu Nabegu, Director monitoring evaluation and research in the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps, on Friday said that Federal Government would soon deploy teachers to teach Yoruba Language in Brazil.

Aminu said that the countries were already discussing the modalities for the implementation of the programme.

He said once the agreement was reached the government would deploy the teachers and some cultural experts to Brazil.

The Yoruba-speaking communities, which reside in the Bahie region of Brazil, are the major target for this programme.

“That is where we have large numbers of people believed to be the descendant of the Oduduwa,” he said.

Aminu said a centre for the study of Yoruba culture and language had been opened in Brazil.

The Director also said a similar programme had been extended to Yoruba-speaking communities in Benin Republic. (NAN)
