Sad Experince With Nigeria Police Ijaniki Lagos State by Sircj(m): 2:59am On Aug 23, 2015
I write with pain and anger my worst experience in the hand of Nigeria police

Last two weeks strange number called, he
said he collected my number from mum.
OK what happened story start.
That since he paid my brother for a service and he failed to deliver that why he has to meet my mum and she gave him my number.
I told him to hold on so I confirm from my brother' the ''accused''.

My brother told me that he had provided d service for one out of the two but one refused to allow his friend to have access to the service.but he is working on the other guy service that very soon it will be provided.

Then I told this guy that called wat he said that within a week it will be provided everybody agreed

But after a week grace has elapse my brother was unable to provide the service, his reason was that the provider of the service was telling him to exercise patience but this guy that called me, his patience is running out of hand already. That I was the one that asked him to wait for one week.

Fast forward the last time I met this my Bros is getting to two years now.

The guy told me that the guy that my brother was yet to provide for his service arrested him but told me they later released him. That he promised them weekend to resolve the matter.

I told him ok I will come let's see the guy weekend so we can resolve the issue once.

then I ask my broda how are u gona refund this guy since u are unable to provide the services.

He said that he has used the money to pay for advance and they are telling him to wait but since they can't wait he has to struggle on his own to pay them.
I called this guy told him wat my brother said but he told me he was just concerned about someone that will sign so the boy will free him. I said ok I will come.

Fast forward
Today I went to met them but to my greatest surprise they av arrange wit police at IJANIKI. I was ASSAULTED,SLAPPED,MADE TO SAT ON THE FLOOR, DRAGGED ME LIKE CRIMINAL, I Wanted to resist but they brought out gun THREATEN TO SHOT.I have to endure all that to police they use my tax to pay salary.
They search my wallet and fone, they told me they were looking for incriminating material. And wen they could not find one before they start asking me wat happened.
At the end they ask me to write undertaking on how I will assist so dat the matter will resolved. I did before they let me go. they photocopy my ID.

Do Nigeria citizens deserve this from a police officer

Please how do I seek redress

Brutality is bad, but I will tell you the truth, it normally happen, when you try to resist arrest.

Maybe you felt the police have no right to arrest you, since you're not the main culprit, unfortunately, you could be an accomplice. BC you know your brother's where about and you try to broker peace. So that could automatically make you an accomplice.

If the complaint reached out to you and in return, you told him is not your business, that will make him continue looking for only your brother.

Apart from the brutality aspect, ( which could be triggered by you resisting arrest) the police are doing a correct job.

If you fail to meet the undertaken you wrote, you could be charge to court for conspiracy. Meanwhile if your brother was arrested he will be charge for OBT, obtaining by trick.

So try to fix the issue ASAP, because this time the police could be right.

I think you are one of them that is why u are supporting.
Well I only wrote that I will assist to resolved the issue. But I wonder how that will result to conspiracy so to say.
You never care about the treatment they melted to me.
Seizing ones phone, wallet and my belonging has become discharging their responsibility
Thank you for ur one sided judgment

I have never supported the police for manipulation or fraud, in fact check most my of comments in nairaland, I'm always kicking against evil men in our NPF.

I'm only advising you, in as much as,I hate evil police with passion, we can't hate the good ones.

According to your write up, you admitted your brother collected money, but never fulfil his own part of the agreement, whatever happens, like reasons for him not to fulfil part of his job, you have to tell that to judge for evaluation.

His client has lost hope in his words, and you also admitted you have fail to broker a proper deal, that's the reason he involve the police.

Your brother is nowhere to be found, because he is wanted, and you know where your brother is, and refuse to produce him to the complainant, that alone makes you an accomplice, if you have told the complaint you have nothing to do with the deal bla bla, and give a useful information, like his last know address, to be trace, then you're helpful, never and accomplice.

Let me put it this way, you hide your brother, and come out as a commando that nothing will happen to you, that is not you who collected the money, and try to play prank with the complainant, by brokering a false deal to help resolve the situation, indirectly you aiding your brother. So that makes you an accomplice.

I'm only trying to give you insightful information, how a police force will judge it and charge you to court, even if you're innocent.

I will advise you to call your brother to resolve the situation, to avoid more embarrassment.

The truth of the matter is the policemen were not uniform because they came with hilux to pick me where I was with the complaints and took me to IJANIKI Police state at back of the building. So I have to say yes to
whatever they are telling me cos they are with gun.
But I will identify any of them. And there was a woman they took me to her office after writing purported undertaking.
I have to say yes so they will let me go.

The complaints knew them very well cos I believed they are his friends.
I knew very well that what they did to me yesterday was illegal and inhuman.

Sir, I'm only making my contributions, if you don't like it, you can slap me via WiFi.

I never claim you are there when transaction was done, yes, I agree you only get involve after the matter was reported to your mother, probably the guy went to ur village to create a scene, which is unfriendly to you and your family.

I still agree you haven't seen your brother in years,

All this reasons, still won't be enough to exonerate yourself, after you try to broker a peaceful deal.

With all your comment. shows you're still in contact with your brother, police are to enforce the law, and to enforce the law, they have to do couple of arrests and interrogations, with this interrogation, police will be able to make their findings.

If you think I'm fooling you or supporting you, go to any good and established law firm with good reputation, you will hear their reply.

Only greedy lawyers, will take advantage of you.

Don't waste ur time or money, advise ur brother to pay back, so you won't have any future arrest, that could land you in kirikiri.

Police must not be in uniform to make an arrest, they can go undercover, if they suspect their presence will put you on the run.

Now let me understand you, what are you looking for?

To fight police brutality? Or you feel you have been abused, so therefore the debt your brother is owning is automatically written off?

Or you want to exonerate yourself, after getting involve, trying to broker a peaceful deal.

For exoneration, it's almost impossible only if your brother surrender to the police.

And another option is you try to help the police with useful information. That will aid your brother's arrest.

Is just too late to pull out, until matter is resolve, police will continue coming for you.

Even when somebody is under gun point to make a statement.
Even wen d complaints is saying that he will use juju to solve the matter lol

Re: Sad Experince With Nigeria Police Ijaniki Lagos State by entparrot(f): 11:17pm On Aug 23, 2015
I doubt if you can establish a threat case against the complainant, Because he was wise enough, instead of going with violence, he went through the right way to get his money.

You're not under gun point, the police are only enforcing the law, if you had come here and say nobody is owning anybody, the guy only use his police connections to intimidate and force you, then you have a case to fight.

Now you're exposing yourself more with your last statement.

with your last statement, it means you're aware your brother is a serial debtor and you went ahead to broker a deal.

Next time, if he is owning someone, aid that person, by giving him, useful information, or even help track him down, be very logical, don't show interest with your assistance, tell him his last location or whereabout. That will make you clear off the case.

Of course you're not forced, you're tricked into meeting the complainant, and probably you want to act as a commando.

Of course human heart is desperately wicked, one of the example of that is your brother.

For me you and your brother sound more like a trouble makers, looking for all sorts of excuses not to pay the debt you're owning.

Whatever the case may be, I hate Nigerian police with a burning passion. Probably, that's why I feel kinda happy or rather exited a bit, if I heard about the demise of one during operations. Had so many experiences with those Buffon's.

@op. I understand everything u wrote. The truth is, those black Buffon's in d devil's clothing are being bribed by the client. They are quiet overzealous in executing this course of action. So, they will make sure they use any means possible to frustrate and provoke your whole being. If truly u are oblivious of your brother's whereabout, just take the necessary actions as required..
