The attention of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Nasarawa State Chapter has been drawn to the latest desperate attacks on Our Governorship Candidate, His Excellency Labaran Maku, CON by Tanko Almakura’s agents! In a one page fiction against Maku, advertised in some Newspapers by a shadowy group Called Nasarawa Citizens For Peace which operates directly from Governor Almakura’s office in Lafia, the group attempted to link Maku to Omatse Cult Group.

The desperate piece of fiction also contained other slanders and outlandish insults that could come only from a sinking regime!

Investigations by APGA revealed that the Write Up was sponsored and payed for by Nasarawa State Government to smear the reputation of the Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku whose victory at the April 11 Governorship election was fraudulently upturned in one of the most brazen Electoral frauds in Nigeria’s history!

The shameful attacks on Maku are informed by the dramatic revelations at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in afia where Almakura’s witnesses shocked the court by openly testifying that Governor Almakura did not win the April 11 election!

This historic upset at the tribunal by Almakura’s witnesses who pointedly told the Court the it was APGA’s candidate Maku that won the election, has pushed the Governor into a wild campaign of calumny and character assassination against Maku mainly to divert the attention of the public!

Every citizen of Nasarawa State is aware that Tanko Almakura is a founder and kingpin of ombatse and one of its main financiers!

Revelations linking Governor Almakura to omatse were made at the Juducial Commission of Enquiry set up by the Governor himself!

The group announced to the whole world that Almakura was their Financier and was the main

Beneficiaries of the group which he used to prosecute his 2011 governorship campaign! The group also is known to have provided Tanko Almakura personal security protection throughout the 2011 governorship election!

Following the Alakyo crisis Baba Lakyo revealed that Tanko had gone to him personally for blessing before he contested election in 2011. The group produced photocopies of checks at the tribunal to prove Almakura’s linkage and sponsorship of Ombatse!

On the otherhand, Maku’s position on Ombatse is known to all the people of Nasarawa State and that’s why throughout the sitting of the Almakura’s inquest Maku was never once invited! The ongoing slander and blackmail against Maku is just because he is fighting to reclaim his mandate from desperate robbers who fraudulently rewrote the results to impose Tanko Almakura on our state!

Because the Social media have been awash with reports of alleged stashing away of $510million dollars in American banks by Gov Almakura, his agents quickly planted the fiction in the social media that $1billion Dollars had been found in a phantom farm belonging to Maku. When Nigerians attacked Almkura’s agents for planting this bogus story of money found in an imaginary farm belonging to Maku, they quickly and arbitrarily reduced the amount to N37 billion! Up till now neither Almakura nor his agents have told the world where this mystery farm is located, and which security agency discovered the alleged billions!

Maku had earlier challenged Almakura’s agents to lead journalists and the police to the alleged farm, but they are yet to take up the challenge!! While we would rather not dignify Gov Almakura’s agents with a response on their bogus claims relating to the fraud that they continue to parade as the result of the disputed election, we wish to inform the general public that the ongoing propaganda is a desperate attempt to divert attention from the revelations by Almakura’s witnesses who conceded and admitted that APGA won the April 11 election in Nasarawa State!

We therfore call on the genera public to disregard the sponsored media Attacks on Maku by Almakura’s gents as the antics of a desperate and drowning regime gasping for air!
