I agree with you but in Nigeria things just don't work out well when it comes to emergencies. Probably a good Samaritan who got stuck with the boy and was anxious to return to his normal schedule desperately did this himself.

I was once at an accident scene where a Honda civic car crashed into a parked trailer seriously injuring three male occupants. One of the first thing you will notice if you are at an accident scene is that, we do not have emergency numbers to call. So to save lives quickly, residents had to tear up the car by hand and get the occupants out into a pickup truck that also stopped and we escorted them to a private hospital.
At the hospital the nurses immediately demanded N50000 payment per person. I had to search the wallet of the driver through some business cards and called someone, informed him of the accident. Good enough he immediately responded and took care of the situation and also contacted families while I just moved on.
If you are the first person at the scene of an accident and not willing to make huge sacrifices, its better you don't stop at all.
