former military administrator of Akwa Ibom state and member of the transition sub-committee of President Muhammadu Buhari, Colonel Yakubu Bako has condemned insinuations that the president’s appointments favoured only the North, saying Southerners are holding about 30 key positions in the present federal government. According to Leadership, Bako stated at an interview session in Kano that the president has been taking his time to appoint qualified and able Nigerians based on confidence, honesty, dedication to duty and acceptance of responsibility, irrespective of their regional identities. He said that he had read in some national dailies that there is lopsidedness in Buhari’s appointments suggesting that he is favouring the Northern region leaving out the South. Bako noted that southerners holding key financial appointments under the present federal government are the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, group managing director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, chairman, Federal Inland Revenue, chairman, revenue mobilisation and fiscal commission, the director general of bureau of public procurement and the chief executive officer of Nigerian Stock Exchange. https://www.naij.com/536988-south-occupies-positions-president-buhari-col-bako.html |

Baba must succeed weda de like it or not God who appoints him will see him through. People must talk, GEJ was doing his own they insulted him by calling all sort of names now PMB is here same people with that inbuilt hatred since no be my own, my region or my brother, na insult. What i know in this life is everybody want to succeed and never want to be insulted by anyone. But the youth of now n som crops of elderly men chose negetive criticism as their breakfast. Nonetheless, you will reap from what you sow as yo insult elderly men in the name of politics just calm down n wait for your own to come. |

Mr Bako, the right thinking Nigerians are rightly behind Mr president PMB on his steps taken so far. Those complaining and wailing are the usual suspects who have employed all manners of antics even before the election to dissuade us from voting PMB. We stick to our resolved and can only judge Mr president by the end of his tenure not on sentiment but on good governance. No wonder Socrates aptly put it that when an argument is lost, slander become the tools of the looser. Should we blaim them? No! As it is the minority will have their say but the majority will always have their way. LET THE WAILING KONTINU! |
