Punishment is meant to correct not to destroy. D essence of correcting and reintegrating looters will be lost if life is snuffed out them. Jailing and seizing d stolen properties and money with d profit accrued is a civilized and more effective measure. Death penalty is a destructive measure, jailing looters is a corrective measure. China has d death penalty for corrupt ppl and drug peddlers but dat has not deterred individuals from being corrupt and neither has drug-trafficking become a thing of d past in China. Let us support long jail terms and dissuade death sentence cos d former is a corrective measure, whereas d later is a destructive measure. #peace
