The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced James Abiodun Faleke as the deputy governorship candidate of the party for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Faleke is currently the a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and had served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Ethics, Anti-corruption and National Values in the Seventh Assembly.

According to PM News, Faleke is also former two time chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.

Many political commentators have opined that the choice of Faleke was made in order to reward him for his loyalty to the leadership of the party leadership, especially National Leader, Bola Tinubu, and is said to be integral member of his (Tinubu’s) “engine room.”

Kogi 2015: James Faleke emerges Abubakar Audu’s running mate
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has officially picked James Abiodun Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as its deputy governorship candidate for Kogi State, northcentral Nigeria.

Faleke, chairman of the House Committee on Ethics, Anti-corruption and National Values in the Seventh Assembly, was also former two time chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State as well as ex-Chairman of Conference 57, umbrella organisation for the chairmen of the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs in Lagos State.

Faleke’s choice was regarded a round peg in a round hole which was applauded by many especially leaders of the party at all levels.

This was based on account of his commitment and loyalty to the party.

He has emerged as one of the younger elements of committed party members thus an integral member of the engine room of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Faleke has undertaken several assignments for the party and came out with flying colours, the most recent being his sterling performance as the Coordinator of the Lagos Office of the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation.

Highlight of his role then was organising a walk-to-freedom programme during which hundreds of thousands of party supporters and members including the current Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; Senator Oluremi Tinubu among others participated.

In 2011, Faleke was also in the trenches in Kogi State campaigning and working for Audu who was then governorship candidate of the former Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Faleke is also a deep rooted grassroots mobiliser who is well loved by many for several qualities including humility, loyalty, commitment and diligence.

In as much as he is from Kogi state and the people of Kogi are not complaining, no big deal here.

Kudos to Asiwaju for all his hard work. Nobody will see him now that he's strategising and spending huge resources to win the Kogi governorship election. Haters will start complaining after the election that he's calling the shot in the party.

Who is a lagosian and who is not. Less than 18 % of lagos are non indigene. The man may be a Kabba man in kogi state that is a house member. Thesame way you have two easternes both in state and federal house of lagos state. There is also and Edo man in state assembly. Aregbe was a former commissioner in lagos but osun governor today. Tinubu is an osun man while the present governor Amode is from ondo state. Thats why i dont see the big deal in refuting the "the nomansland' nature of lagos state. Hausa man i heard will make cabinet list. Igbos are already there even without appointment but by the power ballot cum strong population. The man must be a kogi man from okun ethnic Kabba area that have strong yoruba culture. If it happened to be otherwise, that means apc will loose hands down. So confirm well where he is from b4 they used to bury apc finally in kogi state

They are not confused. This is a tactical move. APC is capitalizing on Nigeria's greatest problem - tribalism.

The choice of the Yoruba man will give them the block vote of the Yoruba part of Kogi.
