I suffer from insomnia once it a while sha. As for cure, I usually pick my rosary and pray as a catholic and usually dozz off after few minutes into it. I have stopped that sha. The one I currently use is listen to a podcast especially boring ones. it works like magic.

You must understand that it varies for individuals.

There are two types of insomnia. PRIMARY (psycho-physiological, your mind is active, you get anxious about not being able to sleep, your heart races etc.) and SECONDARY (mainly caused by other factors like health, environmental conditions etc)

You need to be more specific about your type and determine what you are doing that is keeping you in the viscous cycle of insomnia.

insomnia can be a disorder on its own or manifestation of other conditions like drug overuse, depression, grieving, bpd,anxiety, stress

it can be in stages
1) difficulty initiating sleep
2) difficulty maintaining sleep or early money wakefulness usually due to depression
3) unrefreshing sleep

these have different causes.

There are many causes such as
1. Age. it is commoner after 50 years.
2. Psychologic. Worries, planning etc.
3. Environ. Noises, mosquitos, lights, strong odors. etc.
4. Diseases. Hypdrtension. Psychiatric
diseases. Pains. Severe disease. Frquent urination at night.
5. Stimulants such as kola. coffee and caffeinated drinks and drugs.
6. Habits.

The cure comes from curbing the cause.

May be you should try it too.

Count 50-1,then play quiet song .u can also be active in day time avoid drugs cause it wil master your body

Don't create dependence on alcohol for sleep..

Sir sleepless nights can either be medically-related or psychiatric.

Are you currently treating Typhoid? Some drugs are known to cause insomnia.

Please be aware that sleepless night can also be psychiatric related. Persistent sleepless nights will ultimately lead to hallucinations (hearing strange sounds; seeing strange beings like unreal angels; warped thoughts, the feelings that people are reading your mind; just to name a few).

When this happens, you'd mostly think the witches from your village are after your destiny.

Please take caution and do not mistake just any sleepless syndrome for mere insomnia.

If you find it difficult to fall asleep for days (say 3days), please run as fast as your leg can take you to a psychiatrist before you land on the street naked.

I mentioned this because every other person would mostly relate your issue with "internet, heartbreak, worry, etc"

How come I've not gone psycho haven not slept for d past 6days except 1-2hours @ 9th nd I feel very sound and ok.

Sleepless nights can be a sign of severe depression, especially if you've noticed that you can't sleep because of unpleasant thoughts causing you stress! if you experience other symptoms of depression you may need immediate professional help.
