Olu Falae accepted to serve under IBB with some selfless terms.

1. He refused to take salaries from govt because he wanted to be his own man. He insisted the governemnt should seek his service through NAL Merchant Bank as the bank MD.
2. He did not lobby for it. IBB lobbied Awolowo to get Falae to work with him. IBB confirmed it.
3. When He was the Chairman of the Cocoa Board under OBJ regime in the late 70s, He refused to carry out a wicked policy ordered by Obasanjo. He got fired but was recalled when OBJ found out he was the best in the Civil service as at then. OBJ also promoted him as Permanent Secretary and thanked him  for doing a honest job when leaving, to which Falae replied ''Your excellency, I did my job with the fear of God, which's the normal thing to do''

4. IBB and Abacha lobbied Pa Ajasin to get Falae to accept the offer of heading the Interim National Government but Falae rejected the offer, and insisted  Abiola should be sworn in. (An offer Shonekan accepted and most of these politicians would have jumped at)

5. He's one of the few pragmatic, intelligent, honest, progressive, de-tribalized, educated and issues-oriented politicians

Did you watch the presidential debate of 1999 which turned a monologue, because OBJ  avoided it? Do you know why OBJ avoided the debate with a man that he had worked with?

If you ever listened to that man, you would know there are few politicians who can match him. His influence goes beyond the South-west.

How many politicians has IBB visited at home? Go to his Minna Mansion and see how politicians scrample to see IBB.  

IBB visits Falae in Akure seeking forgiveness from him. If Falae, who worked under IBB, had soiled his hands, would IBB go begging?
Trust IBB, he would deal with him.

Falae is the best President Nigeria never had.
