According to the French General, Napoleon Bonaparte, "in politics, stupidity is not a handicap". Therefore, the antics of Osun State government cannot be far from this saying.

In our article tagged "Government Profligacy: A case study of Osun State", we shed light on what brought the state to this sorry pass and by now we thought the Governor should have retraced his steps.

But surprisingly, Osun State government has proved to the whole world that the level of suffering in the State is still reasonable. If not, the government would not have such heartless effrontery to stage a charade of verification exercise after 5years in government.

The following questions demand answers from Governor Rauf Aregbesola; is he just waking up from slumber that he has ghost workers?, what happened to 2013 biometric verification conducted for same workers and pensioners by his government? Why waiting for bail out loans to be released before verification? Was it not the same Staff strength he used to get N34.99billion as bail out from FG, so who are those ghost workers?, why half payment when N34.99billion has been collected since 3rd September, 2015?, and is he claiming is not owing them again after he has collected money for same reason?

If Aregbesola and his cohorts had possessed a modicum of sense, they
would have paused to think before taking such a heartless step.

We have told FG before, that they should put mechanism in place to avoid diversion of purpose by these Governors. We are imploring President Buhari to call this man to order before things get out of hands.

Also to the Labour Union leaders who are fond of selling their birthrights against wishes of their co-workers, posterity will judge.
