The Contractor staff otherwise known as
casual workers of Nigeria National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have
written a strong worded letter of petition
against the management of the company
over what they described as ill-treatment
of members.
The workers in a letter addressed to the
Group Managing Director of the
Corporation Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu,
and made available to media yesterday
disclosed that the condition of the
service of casual staff is deplorable.
The worker who use the opportunity of
the GMD’s inspection visit to Kaduna
Refinery and Petrochemical Company,
KRPC, to state their grievances stated
that non of casual staff were allowed to
access any Hazard or leave allowances.
The letter dated 21st August 2015, and
also copy to the Presidency, added that
contractor staff are not on any medical
benefits and most benefits that come
with working in an oil company.
