Why Listen to Jimoh Ibrahim and his Wolf cry on Biafran Agenda? http://www.onlinegreentips.com/?tag=economic-base

Any good economist would have chosen to close his eyes to the solution proffered to Nigeria’s economic recession by Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim, an economist, industrialist and lawyer but it would be very suicidal also to all to pay no heed to a comment recently attributed to him in the Saturday Tribune of Saturday, 21st March, 2009 in which he commented thus:

“We must cut the naira now and sack the governor of CBN because Soludo has come to pursue the Biafran agenda. His Biafran agenda is to strengthen the Biafran currency against the naira and he is using the national resources to prosecute this failed agenda”

It is unfortunate that a comment like this should come from a well-respected and educated man that parades himself as the chairman and managing Director of several companies that have economic base in the country and particularly sad that Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim has chosen to thread along the path of anti Igbo lane out of many roads in the country who would not let the issue of Biafra rest in peace because they still habour acrimony for the Igbo race who they find inevitable to deal with. Whereas Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim cleanly washed his hands with water like Pontius Pilate absorbing himself and claiming to be a detribalized Nigerian with an Igbo GMD in NICON Hotel, an Igbo as GMD in Global Fleet and his secretary whom he named Olivia as another Igbo, yet he would readily recall that Biafra is still very much in existence with an agenda with Charles Soludo.

Many of the probes set up to deal with issues of unwarranted bloodsheds in this country continue to reveal that superfluous and unprovoked comments such as this very one coming from someone who should be taken as a brother of all irrespective of ethnicity are often responsible for ethnic-bloodsheds. When a man of the substance of Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim with the array of Igbo men and women managing his companies makes a comment to the effect that the governor of a Central Bank of Nigeria is pursuing a secessionist agenda, then we expect that he is sending a red signal to people of other nationalities in the country to consider his comments seriously and badly deal with the governor who in his own view has failed his nation because he is an Igbo man. As matter of fact, we expect that sooner or later, he would show the Igbo managers in his company the door to eternally exit.

The well educated and self-acclaimed best economist in the world in the person of Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim should have put his economic expertise to use to intelligently understand that Prof. Charles Soludo cannot be held responsible for the world economic meltdown recently ravaging the entire countries of the world as caused by the USA. His recommendation that more Naira be printed is nothing but economic absurdity, something that can only be likened to a scene in the movie “the Rise and Fall Idi Amin Dada” a certain Babs Alasa has since in the Vanguard of Friday, 27 march 2009 described this as a “Poisonous Economic Therapy” because developed countries like the USA, Japan, UK, China and others are still battling to find solution to this global economic meltdown and not one of these countries have had the thought to resort to the printing of more currencies as a solution to their economic problem.

Since I am not an economist, it is left for the Federal Government of Nigeria and its financial arm, the Central Bank of Nigeria to come to a decision on whether to print more naira and share to the existing Banks in the country or (and) the entire 144 million people of Nigeria as arithmetically prescribed by Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim but my major concern is that some of those people out there whom we fatherly look up to, to deliver us when there are ethnic clashes always manufactured and in this country by men disappoint us by revealing to us that they see nothing good in the Igbo. Only some few months back, another well-respected Nigerian, made a comment quite similar to that of Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim and was cautioned by the Federal Government, we also remember the erudite journalist, Reuben Abati who also made comments that touched on the personality of Odimegwu Ojukwu and the Igbo in entirety. Not forgetting the series of comments that have been made by Prof Omo Omoruyi on the Igbo.

Such discriminatory statements are increasingly making the Igbo feel unsafe as they do not know who to trust and who not to trust among the teeming populations of Nigerians of other extractions, and we caution that these people should see the Igbo as their brothers and sisters or leave them alone forever.

There should be a law in the country that jail people who exhume the ghost of biafra. Just as we have in Germany for those anti jews nazis. That way, the matter will die naturally.

The problem with Jimoh Ibrahim is that he talks too much.He does what is called 'laulau' in Yoruba slang parlance. When somebody talks too much he is bound to commit many gaffe.
How many times have you seen Dangote, Femi Otedola or Mike Adenuga talking about themselves or other poeple. These people are too busy to engage in these frivolous talks JI does. Remember when he threw verbal invectives on Dangote & FO sometime last year? And these people employ far more than he does. He only employs on newspapers. He will employ 10 people and publish their names on newspapers. What a childish act!

Jimoh Ibrahim's behaviour is best described by the Yoruba proverb ' . . oju orola ri tin japo s'aya' literally translateable as ''. . . a poor man that was fortunate to come across wealth, and mismanaging the wealth''

JI talks much about his being Harvard-trained. And so therefore! There are hundreds of Harvard-trained professionals in Nigeria. If anything, what comes out of his mouth at times makes one wonder whether this man actually passed through Harvard.

I can't stop laughing when I read his 'print more money' advocacy as solution to Nigeria's problem. I was in year 2 as an Economics students when I had known that printing more money, without equivalent rise in production output, will spell inflationary pressure on an economy.

On his latest biafran outburst, it's a shame that that such divisive utterance could come out from the man that claims he has Nigeria's interest in his mind.

It's a pity
