News reports coming in from Alausa, Lagos State say that a fire outbreak occurred at the offices of the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) this morning.

 

Political analysts are already speculating that this fire is not unconnected with the attempts by loyalists to Babatunde Fowler, who has been nominated by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to serve in President Buhari’s government, to cover up his tracks after several questionable business dealings with companies linked to Tinubu.

 

In Tunde Fowler’s administration at the helm of the LIRS, reports state that Lagos State’s internally generated revenue went up from about N3.6 billion a month in 2006, to about N20.5 billion per month. However, between 10 to 15 per cent of the proceeds were channeled to Alpha Beta Consulting, a company that is owned by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
