The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), has announced that it would begin monitoring the activities of online media practitioners and social media activists. Chairman of the ICPC, Ekpo Nta the aforementioned would be on the ICPC watchlist for malicious posts and mudslinging. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the opening of a capacity building workshop organised by Anti-Corruption Academy for members of States Houses of Assembly from the North-Central geopolitical zone of the country, Nta said the ICPC is worried that social media platforms are now awash with malicious petitions and mudslinging that are largely motivated by selfish interests.
