Ex-Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election in the state.

Sylva polled 726 votes to defeat his closest rival, Timi Alaibe, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, who got 4 votes.

DAILY POST gathered that a total of 1,502 delegates were expected at the primary election.

Nineteen aspirants had signified interest in becoming the candidate of the APC.

Sylva had earlier boasted that he would emerge the flagbearer of the party.

He said, “I have no doubt that, come next Tuesday, I will emerge the candidate of our great party for the December 5 governorship election.

“The primary election is just a process to our ultimate goal of retrieving our collective political destiny from the Peoples Democracy Party grabbers, who have arrested the development of the state since 2012, and fulfilling it for the good of all,” Sylva added.

This news is doubtful as I heard the primaries was inconclusive

However if truly he won I wish him luck.

Bayelsans and kogites have a very simple contest in both state because all their major candidates were once governor, simply choose who did good to the state when he governed as everyone of them is going for just 2nd term. No newbee
