Alphaoscar: In the minds of many, Tinubu is the President of Nigeria. I think many Nairalaranders, without realising it, exalt Tinubu with how they see him as being behind everything APC does. Man obsess about those he fears. He does not lose sleep over inconsequential folks. It is clear they fear, admire and respect jagaban. 1 Like |

zik4ever: Senator George Akume was instrumental to APC gaining ground in Benue state even before he became senator. He has been a loyal APC force since the Yaradua Days. I Do not know why the APC leaders sidelined him for someone else. This is just what politics can offer even the most loyal party stalwart. |

johnpalmer774: I agree with you that Saraki has a case to answer and it's obvious. I share the same feelings that he might be removed because I think Nigerians are more interested in the merit of the case than the technical blunders by the CCT. Now here is my fears for APC------- the APC does not have overwhelming majority in the Senate. The Senate is almost equally shared by both APC and PDP. If Saraki is removed, his faction are most likely going to align with PDP. Now what happens if PDP decides in unity, to present a candidate for the Senate presidency? And just to correct you, the Constitution stipulates that 1/3 of the total members of the Senate forms a quorum and not 2/3. But it's only 2/3 of the quorum can reach a decision. You can find it under the composition of the NASS in Chapter 5, section 54 (1) of the 1999 constitution of the FRN as amended. |
