Top 10 Reasons Why Igbos And Yorubas Should Not Marry by ragiluhivo(m): 12:17pm On Sep 27, 2015 |
Whether you are aware of it or not, many inter-tribal relationships have died an untimely death because of the tribal differences between the couple. Parents, elders, and friends have rained down fire and brimstone to see to it that this sacrilegious union does not get to the altar. The strong couples come out of it beaten, bruised, but alive nonetheless. The weaker ones — well, they inspire me to write this. The most popular union seems to be the one between the Igbos and the Yorubas. With this in mind, I have compiled a list, specially for everyone who is currently in such a relationship. If you have been pressured into breaking up because of tribal differences and you have no idea why you should – or if you should, then I am here to help you make that decision. Please read, digest, and understand the lists below. Reasons Igbos Should NOT Marry Yorubas: 1. They’re dirty. 2. All they know how to do is party. 3. They eat too much oil. 4. Their women flirt/sleep around too much. 5. Their men will ALWAYS cheat with a Yoruba woman. 6. They are loud and obnoxious. You can hear them from a mile away. 7. They are wild. They are the real “Akata” people. 8. They are Nigeria’s problem. 9. They don’t understand the Igbo culture. 10. They do too much juju. Reasons Yorubas Should NOT Marry Igbos: 1. They’re rude; they have no respect. 2. All they know how to do is chase money. 3. Their pounded yam is as hard as stone. 4. They don’t put enough oil and spice in their food. 5. Their in-laws are wicked! The husband’s family will always maltreat the woman. 6. They cannot speak Yoruba, and even if they can, they do not know our culture. 7. They will sell their brother for money. 8. They won’t let us play our fuji music at home. 9. They’re Nigeria’s problem. They keep trying to divide us. 10. When their women die, their bodies have to be returned to Igbo Land to be buried. Source 5 Likes 1 Share |

Abugab: Mister, if you are sincere and objective you will never raise such accusation on a peace-loving Igbo people. Between Igbos and other tribes who make the loudest noise and propaganda using every available media outfit? In the build up to the 2015 general elections certain people made careless and careless utterances thereby heating up the polity. Is any of them Igbo The likes of FFK, Fayose, Fashola, Tinubu, Lai, El Rufai, Junaid Mohammed, Obj and Sahara Reporters who heated the polity with their utterances, is any of them Igbo? Yorubas whose main source of livelihood in Abia State is driving where given free hand to operate to the extent they started cloning drivers license and forging vehicle particulars. Where they victimised? Was touts unleashed on them to destroy their business? Are they not being accommodated in the South East without any noise from Igbos? How many Yorubas have houses in the SE? Are they not living in a house built by another man who collects rents and did not beat his chest of accommodating Yorubas? Do you expect an Igbo man that bought land in Lagos for N300 million per plot not to exercise his right as a landlord? How many Yorubas dare cough out only N20 million to buy a plot in choice areas of Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Nnewi, Orlu, Afigbo or Aba in SE? Is anybody holding them? Don't you see sales advert on the internet for such lands? And you still shout the loudest 'One Nigeria' for your political convenience! When has it become noise-making or crime for someone to even aspire to be chairman in a market they have the majority? When has it become a crime for lawful taxpayers and citizens to exercise their franchise rights? Should any citizen be threatened to vote anointed candidates? When has aspiring to be voted for by non-indigene become a crime in a sane country? If your people have the sizeable number in any area in the SE, what prevents you from aspiring for a post to better the lots of the people? Many mischievous fellows hold the view that Igbos should be grateful for being allowed to live in their part of the country, even when the oil revenue from the South-East Zone is being channelled for Lagos development! You say Igbos disrespect their host when Igbos chose to quietly exercise their franchise right in Lagos. And you don't seem to see any wrong in Oba Rilwane Akiolu threatening Igbos to vote for his anointed candidate! And Dr Ariyo in the US went further by calling for xenophobic attack on Igbos. The main reason many people of all tribes in Nigeria troop to Lagos State and its environs is simply by virtue of it being a former federal capital territory. So don't single out Igbos and term it that they are being accommodated. That's is an insult on the sensibilities of a people who have contributed in no small way to the mega-status of Lagos State. It is absolutely wrong to even hold the view that Igbos or any other should be grateful for being allowed to live in any part of the country, Biafra or no Biafra. If other people were not needed in Lagos such embargo should have been placed ab initio, about a century ago, before the heavy investment of crude oil revenue and the vast contributions of every other Nigerian, including their sweats and bloods, and not now as it's being mischievously mumbled in some quarters. Is there any group that has exhibited more 'Nigerianness' than the Igbos who permeate every nook and cranny of Nigeria, peacefully building and establishing business empires, and growing the economy of the locals and that of the country at large? And you don't seem to see anything wrong in castigating the ever peace-loving Igbo people. Have you ever heard anywhere Igbos are on rampage and causing mayhem to their 'host' for no just cause? For some decades now certain people have propagated lies that Igbos don't have crude oil. That Igbos are greedy and want to corner South-South oil wealth. That Ondo State produces more crude oil that the whole South East. And to heighten the insult, they say Igbos bring virtually nothing to the Federal revenue! They say Igbos are land-grabbers. In the past Yorubas were busy building empires, looking for weaker groups to acquire. The Fulanis colonized the Hausas. The Binis terrorised some parts of Yoruba and Anioma land, and tried to conquer and use them as slaves. But these same people still turn around to accuse Igbos, who have no such history of expansionist tendencies, of land grabbing and seeking to dominate others. And over the years, Yorubas and their Northern co-travellers have propagated lies and falsehoods portraying Igbos who never had an army or empire as land grabbers. Do you see anything wrong at all when these wicked lies are being fashioned against Igbos for years? It's only mischievous fellows in the society that turn blind eye to the evil and injustice, and permit the atrocities to flourish in the land because they gain from the lopsided arrangement in the polity. 15 Likes 4 Shares |

xtrorse: For how long will the Igbos be crying marginalization and victimization? My advice was for the Igbos to look inward instead of their daily lamentations. I am not here to be dragged into tribal war as you have named all tribes as the enemies of the Igbos. Again, how can everyone just beef you without any reason? Something is normatively wrong and that thing was what I advice should be looked at or the wailing will continue without abaiting 2 Likes 1 Share |

Any Igbo individual, especially a woman, who allows herself/himself to be defiled by an animal, is cursed for all eternity. The Igbo are special people , and so should only mix with people of their kind, including: Anioma, Ika, Kwale, ijaw, itsekiri, urhobo, Benin, esan. But to go as low as a Yoruba or Hausa/Fulani is the gravest of sins. His or Her family have every right to commit an honor killing so as to save their family name from shame 1 Like |

His punishment will know no respite or solace. He is cursed from now till the end of time. The yoruba are so loud that uncountable videos have been made of them shouting ngba-ti, aburo, oya, kilenso, duro demi, all over the streets of London, Dublin, Accra and Cotonou and in buses and trains.
