The decision by 83 senators to pass vote of confidence on Saraki is as good as daring Nigerians. Some may argue that Saraki is being witch hunted and that the case is still in court which is not totally false. But let's not forget the merit of the charges against him. In sane world he ought to have resigned on moral ground but here we are in shock as our senators openly declare by their actions that they don't see anything wrong with the desgrace the senate president has brought to the hallowed chambers.

It is now clear that corruption is fighting back. In as much as the principle of separation of power must be respected but on matters like this our senators should have acted with high moral standards. Shamelessly did they troop to the cbt in the name of solidarity aswell as hiring thugs to barricade the National Assembly today just to tell Nigerians that even if Saraki is a thief they don't care. Nigerian can go to hell is the message from our reps.

Very well said and pretty much what what just happened.

Unfortunately for them, #Change is here to stay and many of them including Saraki are heading to JAIL simply because Nigeria is bigger than some crooked, lawless and corrupt lawmakers that really shouldn't be anywhere near any law making body on the surface of the earth..

This is basically how low this country sank...

APC and their double standards...

Dino moleye's election is being contested. Sylvia timipreye's charges was withdrawn by the FG and was given a ticket to contest for APC primaries.

Amaechi, Tinibu and obj are walking free

Kogi people are asking Audu for their 11 billion naira, yet because Saraki contested for SP they are on his neck.

But come to think of it, per harps it is the fear of PDP that made APC senators to vote for him. If he goes, you won't need any marabout to tell you that PDP will own the upper chamber

You dnt get the point, thats your interpretation of their message. now here is mine. the legislative arm of the govt for some decades now ve become a poo ground where principal officers are not elected but Selected by people who ve no iota of biz there. the national Assembly is not just a building where people go in and come out. it is one out of the 3 locomotive driving force of Nigerian govt. it is a cult charged with a responsibility. a situation where any matter of the national assembly is dictated by outside influences is uncalled for and if a member like saraki decides to be guided by the free control of the legislative arm be it for his personal gain or not and an issue of 12years ago is brought up now to punish him for acting in line with what the legislative arm stands for as an independent organ of government , then our future legislative needs and law will be guided by external influence and dat is bad for our democracy. That is what the law makers are defending.

Re: Saraki:To Hell With Morality, Senate Tells Nigerians by McKren(m): 9:22pm On Oct 02, 2015
That is a very warped view

The 83 are defending separation. Of power and the independence of the Senate as an institution
