Should State Of Residence Replace State Of Origin? by Bobbystanley(m): 11:06am On Oct 02, 2015 |
There have been some debates on social media recently that the State of Residence should replace State of origin. In most cases in Nigeria, people are more interested to know your State of origin than Residence be it official or unofficial issues. Some disagree with the notion. They said that ones State of Origin defines who he/she Is. But due to migrant issues, some people have a little or zero knowledge about their States of origin. Since we are one Nigeria, Does State of origin really matters? Your candid Opinion. 1 Like |

None better defines a Nigerian, we are all Nigerians no matter what part of the country you hail from. The curse of ethnicity, tribalism, nepotism and religious differences along ethnic lines have held this nation down for too long. Let's do away with these differences and come together under the umbrella of UNITY OF PURPOSE to build a Nigeria of our dreams. 1 Like 1 Share |

This issue was raised and discussed exhaustively after which it was agreed at the National Conference, that state of origin should be removed from our CVs or any kind of official document. Although some argued that it will achieve less because the mindset has been ingrained in us. Also that the different regions have peculiar identifiers. |

histemple:these things actually depends. let look at it from both side. the people @ a particular settlement where been ask to move out from their ancestral land for government to utilise the place for public benefits. after settling some part of the family issues arises and because of unequal sharing family scatter. after building company on the said land. a graduate from the same family whose father avoided the fight for his own share of the money went for an employment in the same company instead of granting him employment others with better connection and manipulation got the job. now the guys family remains helpless in the society. that's is what the Niger deltans don't want and that is what Lagos indigene suffer to this very day. Lagos suffer worse to the extent of people claiming no one origin is Lagos. if it were you how will you feel |
