A coalition of youths under the umbrella of the Patriotic Nigerian Youth Guild has revealed a clandestine plan by the leader of the All Progressives congress, APC, Ahmed Tinubu and the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, Danladi Umar to ensure that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki is removed from office.

The group in an advertorial published Tuesday 29, in Daily Trust Newspaper, titled “Why is Tinubu after Saraki?” alluded to a statement attributed to Tinubu where he suggested that the Federal Government cannot overlook Saraki’s trial.

The advertorial signed by Olusegun Olusoga and 5 other members accused Tinubu of masterminding the ongoing legal battle between the CCT and Saraki as well as the recent investigation instigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes commission, EFCC, against his wife, Toyin Saraki.

The statement reads in part: “Asiwaju Tinubu surprised us with his present position because we think a politician of his caliber, pedigree and experience should be able to rise above partisanship, pettiness and back-biting.

“He should maintain his stand for and continue to defend certain principles, no matter the circumstances. These principles include strict compliance with due process, adherence to rule of law and the need to give justice to all concerned in any matter.

“Saraki has maintained that the charges against him were filed against the provision of section 3(d) of the law establishing the code of conduct Bureau and Tribunal. He has raised the issue of witch-hunting, persecution and victimization.

“Asiwaju is the only APC leader who has openly made a statement justifying the plan to destroy a fellow party leader. The TVC owned by him was the only one that eagerly aired the live coverage of the trial of Saraki on the day it commenced.

“Similarly, the Nation Newspaper owned by Asiwaju as well as Punch newspaper where he wields a lot of influence devote significant number of pages every day to run down Saraki”

Saraki and his pro will deal with Tinubu's nominees come ministerial screening at the Senate. Too bad for Tinubu

Saraki and his supporters should learn from the experience of GEJ/PDP who kept attacking Tinubu before the election instead of campaigning on the records of their performance. It ended in a disastrous defeat for them.

Saraki and his supporters should concentrate their efforts on defending the allegations levelled against him instead of this media attack on Tinubu. Insulting Tinubu will not take away the fact that Saraki needs to answer to all the charges brought against him before the CCT.

The question is; is Saraki culpable for the allegations or not?

It matters little really, as Nigerians Tinubu/Danladi have the right to demand accountability & transparency from their Senate's leadership.

Saraki should tell that to the CCT judge. If the CCT judge ruled against him(which is inevitable), he should explain to court of appeal justice. If unsatisfied with court of appeal ruling, he has the option of explaining to the justices of the Supreme Court. If the SC rule against his favor, he can explain his case to the prison wardens. If they turn down his pleas, he has the option of explaining to his colleagues in prison. If his explanation fall on deaf ears, then he should wait till judgement day of the Lord and explain to God.

Tinubu is neither the President nor the Attorney General. Then in what capacity is Tinubu responsible for Saraki's ordeal?

Another set of jobless youths eating their future. Looking for recognising at all cost.

These dolicocephalic and euhedrally formed asinines failed to note that Tinubu is a leading voice in all they have outlined here. He demonstrated this by appearing before the CCT when called upon, unlike their saraki that tried to push the law off rail by going to buy a court injunction to stop his trial.
