the current senate president is an American citizen. the question is that if Nigeria runs in to anarchy or war. this guys will take the next available flight leaving us to our fate.

my suggestion is that anybody has to be any political leader they renounce their citizenship for the time the hold office.

@OP the constitution allows for Nigerians to run for office on condition that they did not VOLUNTARILY acquire citizenship of any other country other than Nigeria.

yes, dual or even quadruple citizens hold political posts.

Many of you are holding passports of other African countries in addition to various passports from around the world.

I agree with you. It is a conflict of interest and a national security risk. No other country will allow such. It's absolutely insane that this is in the constitution. Before you run for office, renounce your citizenship. This is not different from colonialism
