Suicide In The Church April 21, 2009 15:32, 389 views By Astro Jewoola & Olatunji Obasa A bus driver, Kayode Adebayo, trying to avoid arrest by homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, has committed suicide. His body was discovered last night, inside the Light Gospel Liberty Ministry on Oguntade Street, Oko-Oba, Lagos. His body was found dangling from the rafters. He left no suicide note. Family sources said Adebayo had been under investigation in a hit-and-run case by detectives at Panti. The offence was said to have been committed early this month. P.M.NEWS could not confirm if the offence involved a loss of life. Adebayo, a father of two children, was, early Monday, seen in a cream native attire on Oguntade Street, distranght. He was in the same dress when he was found dead. The consistent barking of a dog attracted residents to the church. Yesterday, elders of the community and the shepherd in charge of the church, along with policemen from the Oko-Oba police station, appeased the gods to ward off future occurrences. Offered as sacrifice were a ram, an iron rod, which is emblematic of ogun, the god of iron; kolanuts; bitter kola and alligator pepper. The police at the Ikeja Command are said to have launched an investigation into the suicide. Meanwhile, Adebayo’s body has been deposited at the Ikeja General Hospital mortuary. http://thepmnews.com/2009/04/21/suicide-in-the-church ![]() ![]() |

But what evidence points to this being a suicide and not some freak accident or even a homicide? |

CyberG: Of course, innocent local residents will be arrested and they will have to pay to regain their freedom. In this type of case, "I no follow" is 25,000 naira. So, the investigation will be an avenue for them to make money. Don't be surprised if the man's aife and children get arrested too. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The offering to Oogun makes no sense. I am fully aware of Oogun appease and worship, and this story just do not make sense. Why is Oogun appeased? He's got nothing to do with this. The whole appease items looks more like something for Sango. But then, I really do not see how Sango came to involve in all of these. ![]() |
