“Nigeria GSM network providers don't care about poor Nigerians.” Just recently, Globacom gave Millionaire duo, if not Billionaire, P-Square a G-Wagon and a Range Rover. Average cost for a G-Wagon is $116,325 that's approximately N23.2m and the Range Rover is $71,349 that's approximately N14.2m. These two cars totally about N37.4m. That's not so bad and not too much to give to super stars like PSquare except that this guys already have CARS worth close if not more than that and do not need more cars. If they do, they can afford it.

If Globacom decides to give N1m each of this N37m, that'll be making 37 Nigerians millionaires and if they give N500,000 that'll be 74 Nigerians. Imagine what that can do to some lives and families whose condition of living is never to be compared with that of P-Square.
The annoying part of it is this money is made from the pockets of millions of poor Nigerians through airtime purchases and unrealistic promo participation.

What these GSM networks do to raise money is to flash Nigerians promotions that will require them to load more cards than usual within specified period. i.e if normally you are to load N500 airtime which is enough for your use in a week but to be part of that promo you'll load N1,000 or even more. What that does, is to double the revenue of these network providers so they can rake in what they'll have made in 5 months but now in 2 months.
Instead of rewarding more Nigerians and making more impact, they will give outrageous gifts and rewards to individuals who can afford such gifts.

Does it not make more sense to enrich 74 Nigerians than to give two cars to two individuals?
If every year each of the GSM network providers give out N500,000 to 100 Nigerians in 5 years they'll change the lives of 2,000 Nigerians and there are people who started their live business with capital as small as N200,000.
We have millions of Nigerians living in abject poverty needing as low as N50,000 to even start a trade. Hundreds and thousands of IDPs, victims of flood and crisis unsure of where their next meal will come but we raise money for these GSM networks and what they do is line up millionaires as brand Ambassadors and pay them outrageous sum. So, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. How sad?

Master, good morning. It sounds a perfect way but the world's NOT a perfect place. These folks are entirely business men who don't run their shows on sympathy or emotions. I believe Glo does some kind of charity thing shaaa......but business men don't reason like everyone else.
