One of the major complaints non-
believers level against Christianity is that the churches are full of hypocrites. The dictionary definition of hypocrisy is:

hy·poc·ri·sy [hi-pok-ruh-see]
1. a pretense of having a virtuous
character, moral or religious
beliefs or principles, etc., that
one does not really possess.

So, a religious hypocrite is,by definition,
a non-believer, since he is only pretending to be an adherent of the faith. A hypocrite is not a person who
commits some sins on occasion (all people commit sin occasionally), but
someone who practices those sins on a
routine basis.

Jesus had the most to say about hypocrisy and hypocrites. Since He didn't mince any words on the subject,
but directly confronted the religious
hypocrites of His day (the scribes and
Pharisees), they hated Him intensely -
eventually having Him arrested on
trumped up charges. Here is a list of
some of the hypocrisy that Jesus spoke
against:

1. Giving to the poor to be recognized by
others
2. Praying in public to be recognized as
"God's man"
3. Letting everybody know you are fasting to get recognition by others
4. Complaining about other's behavior
when yours is even worse.
5. Pretending to honor God through lip
service only
6. Testing other people to try to make
yourself look superior
7. Deceiving people from knowing God
8. Repressing the poor and widows
9. Teaching proselytes to be hypocrites
Tithing (giving to the church), but
neglecting justice and mercy
10. Doing everything for show, while really
being self-indulgent and unrighteous
11. Treating stock animals better than
fellow human beings
12.Being able to analyze the weather, but unable to distinguish between right
and wrong.

You see, The news media loves to make
a big deal when a "Christian"preacher commits some sort of sexual sin, BUT they cannot boast of not committing sin.
Everybody love to hate hypocrites

Jesus also predicted that many would fall away although they would claim to be His disciple at the judgment:

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord,
Lord,' will enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of
My Father who is in heaven will
enter. Many will say to Me on that
day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy
in Your name, and in Your name cast
out demons, and in Your name
perform many miracles?' And then I
will declare to them, 'I never knew
you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO
PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' " ( Matthew
7:21-23)

The embarrassing thing about denouncing hypocrisy is that it is equally hypocritical to condemn those who do not follow the teachings of Christ if you do not follow the teachings
of Christ yourself. And one of his most fundamental teachings is that we should take our critical eyes off the sin of others and concentrate on our own
chronic need for Jesus' forgiveness (Matthew 7:1-5; Luke 6:37; 18:11-14).

Hypocrites are people who claim to be morally better than they really are. Authentic Christians claim to be so bad
that they deserve no forgiveness from God.

that's the point, we are ALL filty in God sight, NONE of us can boast of sinless life including believers. Infacte ephsian 2:8 say we are save by grace, we cannot boast of holiness.

Authentic christians feel pain for the sin they commits prior to their calling.

Scripturally we are not filthy before God as believers, we are blameless and Holy before him.Religiously one can say Yes we are.So it depends which you hold on to: Scripture or Religion, Faith or Tales. As for me I believe the Scripture and I am blameless and Holy before God.

Yes we can boast of our salvation only in Christ.

Authentic Christians are unconscious of sin.

you may be right. but know this.
Christians are people who consider themselves such moral failures that they have come to Jesus for help and forgiveness. Making it spiritually depends not on how popular or nice we are, but how much we want God to rule our life and change us.
