THE Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria on Monday asked the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, to withdraw the two weeks ultimatum issued to Fulani herdsmen living in the South-West over the recent kidnap of Chief Olu Falae by alleged Fulani herdsmen.

‪Addressing a news conference in Abuja, National Secretary of the association, Mr. Baba Ngelzarma, condemned the recent abduction of the former SGF.‬

‪Ngelzarma admitted that the kidnap of Falae was a criminal offence that must not be allowed to go unpunished by security agencies but noted that it was unfair to brand all Fulani herdsmen as criminals.‬

‪The group added that their members were also suffering from the activities of kidnappers who collect ransom from the herdsmen in addition to carting away their cattle.‬

‪The former SGF was kidnapped from his farm in Ondo State on Monday, September 21 with his abductors demanding for a cash sum of N100 million, later reduced to 90 million naira, as ransom. The Family of the former Finance minister later paid N5 million ransom before he was released. Falae, a chieftain of Afenifere was released by his captors on Thursday, September 24.‬

Even though i am nt in support of branding a whole ethnic group as criminals because of d actions of a few, d case of d fulanis might b an exception.
4rm d south-south to d south-east, south-west to d north-central, north-west to north-east, they can't say d they ve just few criminals in all d geo political zones. Simply put, d fulanis re troublesome.

SSSSH, When Afenifere gives an ultimatum of this nature, the Fulanis tremble and are clearly aware it is not an empty threat, you should be more worried about those who give ultimatum, which no one takes serious. Fulani herdsmen also have gory tales of woes in Oyo and Ogun state in time past, if an official backing of Afenifere is given for them to leave SW, the herdsmen would have it difficult in coming days

The Federal Government should resolve this once and for all.

They will withdraw the ultimatum, trust me. They can fear ehn.
