Reno Omokri, the former aide of President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians not to criticise President Muhammadu Buhari for the incessant bomb blasts by the Boko Haram insurgents. The host of the Christian TV Show, Transformations With Reno Omokri, stressed that instead of criticising the president, the terrorists should be condemned. “When bomb blasts occur, we need a military response not a political one. Instead of criticizing Buhari on my TL, Criticize the terrorists. Only twisted folk will criticize the President instead of commiserating with victims. If they did it to GEJ, pls we shouldn’t do it to PMB,” Omokri posted on his Twitter handle. Recalled that Omokri as the Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media was targeted by a section of the faithfuls of the then opposition, who often blamed Boko Haram’s attack on Jonathan. Amnesty International said last month that the Boko Haram conflict had killed at least 1,600 people since the start of June in Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon and called for more protection for civilians. An AFP tally puts the death toll at more than 1,320 in Nigeria alone since Muhammadu Buhari became president on May 29.
