The Yobe State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has upheld the victory of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of the All Progressives Congress in the April 11 governorship election in Yobe State.

The Peoples Democratic Party has challenged the election of the APC candidate, alleging massive irregularities in the poll that brought in Gaidam for a second term in office.

Alleged N15m Bribe: Yobe Election Tribunal Admits EFCC’s Evidence Against REC

It would be recalled that the tribunal, admitted, as exhibit, another report issued by the Financial and Economic Crimes Commission (EFCC), on the N15 million bribery allegation against the Yobe State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).

A witness from the EFCC, Mr. Emmanuel Aremo , who tendered the report said he was an investigation officer, who probed the matter.

Two senior personnel of two new generation banks had testified before the tribunal, on the lodgment of N8million and N7million into the accounts on April 8, 2015.

Umar Alkali, the Operations Manager of the Damaturu Branch of one of the banks admitted some of the documents and bank statements of accounts and tellers that the money was paid.


If Buhary will not investigate this allegation of bribery, all his action(s) on election malpractices would be term fraudulent.
