WorldStage Newsonline—The Federal Government of Nigeria on Wednesday assured that it will expedite action on the
completion of an international cargo terminal at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport ( SMICA) , Owerri, Imo
State .
The permanent secretary of Ministry of Aviation, Hajia Binta Bello who spoke in Owerri while conducting the Imo State
governor , Owelle Rochas Okorocha on an inspection tour of the project site said the contractors handling the project
had been sufficiently mobilized .
She said the contractors were awaiting the arrival of building materials for the super structure of the terminal into the
country to commence work on the site .
Bello assured that the completion of the project will facilitate the commencement of international air cargo operations
at the airport to boost economic development in the South - East geo- political zone and other surrounding states .
Okorocha who was conducted round the cargo screening machines already supplied at the site said he was pleased
with the extent of development at the cargo terminal and thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for giving approval to
the early completion of the project to boost economic development in the South East geo-political zone of the country.
The Permanent Secretary was accompanied on the inspection by top ministry officials and heads of parastatals under
the Ministry of Aviation.

Project already paid for and on track for completion as set by the GEJ administration.

Same wailing. Nothing new. GEJ had 8 years to do it but didn't. With limited funds, Buhari has decided to do it.
