IS NIGERIA REALLY WINNING THE WAR AGAINST TERRORISM? The government and Nigerian army said we are winning the war against terror, but the terrorists keep bombing every day and our fellow country people keep dying. Are we really winning the war? To answer the question, premise of government reasoning. The army and govt said we are winning the war because it has been able to prevent the terrorists from holding our territory and sacking them in most of the towns they had earlier occupied. But is that enough to say we are winning? I don't think so. Through out the 5 years of this battle, Wikipedia records indicate that, over 17000 people have been murdered. But reports from other sources indicate that, since the taking over of President Muhammad Buhari, about 1400 people have been murdered. Just yesterday, a Mosque was attacked in which several people lost their lives. In view of this, we must face the reality that, we are not winning the war yet. Preventing insurgents from occupying towns is not the victory in itself, victory is when we prevent them from killing our people. So, Provided the rate of killing is yet not reduce, provided the threat posed by them is very much intact and provided they can still carry out their mission successfully, we can't say with certainty that we are winning the war against terrorism. Therefore, I urge the government to desist from saying we are winning the war against terror. If the rate of killing did not subside, govt have achieved nothing. We must therefore double our efforts in addressing the challenges of suicide operation in the country.

NO.

But then again, majority voted the "change" so I believe they are very cool with the incessant terror attacks in the north.

Not my cup of tea!
