The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos upheld the election of Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode stating that the non-use of the card readers or the dysfunctional nature of the card readers cannot invalidate the Lagos State Governorship Election.

However in the Rivers Tribunal sitting in Abuja nullified the election of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike stating that the non-use of the card readers or the dysfunctional nature of the card readers can invalidate the Rivers State Governorship Election.

There is an absolute national responsibility for INEC and the judiciary to explain to us the constitutional or legal relevance of the card reader. There must be a uniform interpretation of the position of the card reader by all the tribunals in country as regards the gubernatorial elections. A tribunal in Akwa Ibom state cannot dismiss the card reader as not contained in the electoral act and another tribunal in Rivers will nullify an election based on the same card reader.

Weighing both states judgement i.e. Akwa Ibom and Rivers, it is clear that Akwa Ibom tribunal judge was induced because you can't dismissed card reader after billions was spent by the FG to purchase them in-order to enhance the credibility of the election.

The judge didn't just rule in favour of peterside based on non use of card reader . I remember he quoted the INEC witness who agreed that " yes INEC mandate the use card reader"

Let's put aside all our biased and unbiased points and critically look into this issue...

(1) Why did the judge order for a full rerun in all the LGA.
(A) Were all the LGA voting point found wanting.
(B) What happend to the various Voting Units that elections were legally conducted.

(2) Why was the previous judge changed.
(A) Was there any obvious evidence that the previous judge was compromised.
(B) What happend to the previous facts dat was on ground b4 the new Judge took over.

(3) We can bear the fact that our Executive and Legislative arm have been compromised, but our Judicial Arm is the last and only hope for the powerless in our great Nation. So we shldnt allow it to be compromised by those greedy politicians.

Wike should be happy that it is a re-run. In Edo state, Oshiomole was installed when Prof Osunbor was kicked out (and not a re-run).

There is still a chance for him to come back as governor, just like Dr Emmanuel Uduagha of Delta state during a re-run
