What kind of truck and how much per week

I am glad to have stumbled upon this thread. I have been searching for a thread like this on Nairaland.

I intend to buy a truck (10 tyre, bucket) for haulage of sand and gravel in Warri, Delta state. Which product is recommended and how much will it cost?

Should I buy from Lagos, Benin or Cotonu?

What is ROI monthly?

hi yezzy,i have trucks which load 20/40ft containers from lagos port to the Northern States but my biggest challenge is getting to load back to Lagos.my trucks come back empty.what advise or links can you give?Thanks

Well securing goods for a return trip as always been a problem for managers. Buh on a brighter side it has helped to ease the tension and madness of drivers. Want my advice. Let ur driver knw u knw abt his business so he suld be able to do maintenance of d truck. And avoid heavy goofs dat can affect d engine. Buh if u still insist I'll ask around

Wow. Totally not in support except u lay ur hands on trusted fellow. Wat u do is. Test run d person for let's say 3 to 6 months. If he delivers no probs. If not abegi run. Anoda option is installment payment if u looking to dispose off the truck @ a good price

It's been awhile let's have some #trucking# talks. Anoda important issue is buying a new engine or repairing engine. Well frm my mercedez experience. Repairing ur engine is far better than buying half engine or full engine. The only ish is finding a good mechanic. Which I av d luxury of having in abundance. Buying half or full engine is risky due to d following reasons. Firstly. U dnt knw how long d engine y wanna buy as been used, 2ndly u dnt knw d fault attached to such engines. 3 costvof transportation and fixing d engine if u calculate is times 2 if u repair. Jst fixed 2 mercedez and wif their solo sounds and problem free. I'll recommend it. If u wanna fund out abt d cost. Well I'll pass d info. Note. Depends on Wat is wrong wif ur engine.

There is another important factor that has not been taken into consideration though most Nigerian dont always believe they function well. That is insurance. Endeavor to insure your trucks. This is because of the nature of our road and to carter for an unforseen. if not, once your truck is involved in a serious accident, the faint hearted may pack shop and faint.

Fairly use, naija use, European used or brand new

Well for fellow tubor powered truck vehicle managers. This is for u. If u av ish changing tubor charger often. U've got 3 options. 1 u can service, re kit or repair ur damaged tubor or u convert ur truck to normal engine buh be careful else ur motor will overheat. Thirdly u can go for Toronto tubor which is removed frm engine or import one. Price ranges frm 30,000 to 120,000. Anymore info drop ur msg

My honest advice. Don't buy trucks dats nt common in d business due to cost of maintenance. On its durability I'll work on it

So let's say u used the truck for 3 years. U'll recoup d original cost btw 2years. And can sell ur truck between 1.1 to 1.5 if properly maintained

You calculated how much the truck could bring in every month, you also stated how much one can sell the truck after putting it to work for sometime. My question is, how much does the truck cost initially, before you put it to work?
