THE All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Bayelsa State Government are at each other’s throats over a loan facility allegedly obtained by the state government.

While the APC, through the Sylva/Igiri Campaign Organisation insists the PDP government, through the state’s House of As­sembly, is sourcing for two fresh loans of N12.5 billion to prosecute the December 5 governorship poll, the state government has dis­missed the allegation.

Director of Media and Publicity of the Sylva/ Igiri Campaign Organisa­tion, Nathan Egba, in a statement, said informa­tion available to the APC in Bayelsa State indicated that the leadership of the House of Assembly are al­legedly trying to persuade members to sign the docu­ment for the two loans.

Quickly, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson disclosed that rather than looking for a new loan, the government was only drawing from an existing loan facility that had since been approved for the air­port project it said was at 60 per cent level of com­pletion.

Meanwhile, Dickson’s aide, Barnabas Edure has resigned his appointment from the cabinet. Edure, before his resignation yes­terday, was Dickson’s spe­cial adviser on Business Development

The former aide, a kins­man of Dickson and for­mer two-time Chairman of Sagbama Local Govern­ment Area who turned in his resignation, had report­edly complained of alleged poor working conditions.
