The expose of Devil Employer
I am bringing this bad employer to notice of general public and government to intervene and rescue the Outsource employees of Skye Bank which they are dying in silence and helpless, even with the intervention of NLC early this year proved abortive.
The Skye Bank had not promoted it outsource staffs for the past five years. The last promotion was when Mr. Akinsola Akinfenwa was GMD in 2010
The Salary has not been reviewed for the past eight years. The salary of outsource staffs remain stagnant, last time the Outsource staffs salary reviewed was in 2007 from N47, 0000 to N56, 0000 per Month, as against the actual salary of N120,000 to N150,000 per month as entry level while there regular staffs had been reviewed for four times from 2008 to date.
In early 2015 some staffs were protested on salary review with other benefits and the Bank management call for a meeting to Skye House Alausa Ikeja, to ratify the issue and duly represented by Company Secretary Mrs. Abimbola Izu. She told these angry staffs to say their opinions that management will look in to it.

The above Management staffs are wicked and heartless managers have ever seen in Labour market.
These were the presentations of the outsource Staffs then to the Management of the Bank.
Regular promotion of the Outsource staffs
Increment of salary of Outsource Staffs as at when due.
Conversion of the outsource Staffs as at when due.
These are the other point raised below.
Even the promotion of junior staffs of Government parastatals is every two years and it is stable.
Economically, what we were buying from past eight years are not the same now.
The transportation fare had been increased and fuel price had also increased.
Unfortunately, a week after the meeting, some drivers and Staffs on outsource function were sacked.
When these staffs were sacked, NLC came in to the matter but they couldn’t help to reinstate those staffs.
However, Outsource Staffs do all the major works in the Bank like posting of customers transactions, Marketing, Tellerring and process all other sensitive transactions in the Bank but yet they maltreat them by paying them peanut by month end and also denying them of Gratuity after spending many years with the Bank.
In January, 2015 The Skye Bank GMD in person of Mr. Timothy Oguntayo came up with a decision to split it Outsource staffs into three different recruiting company and Scrapped his own Outsource Company (Skye Bank Resources) in order to continue suffering these category of staffs.
The names of new Outsource companies are Integrated Corporate Services Limited, Optimum Continental Services Limited and Strategy Outsource Limited to take over all staffs of Skye Bank Resources.

Dear Colleagues,
In furtherance of the directive of Central Bank of Nigeria, requiring all Deposit Money Banks to cease from all non – core banking activities, it has become expedient for the Bank to fully disassociate itself from Skye Bank Resources Limited. This is to bring to full conclusion, the divestment of the bank’s investment in the company to new owners in 2013.
Consequently, effective January 1, 2015, the monopoly that Skye Bank Resources Limited has had over the management of Officers in Outsourced Functions will come to an end and other newly appointed, independent and certified Outsourcing Companies will be brought on board to compete for the management of this critical workforce. It is the expectation of the Board and management of the bank that this competition will ensure that staff in this category enjoy the best of terms from their assigned employers. With effect from this date, staff in this category will be re-assigned amongst the selected service providers by way of disengagement from Skye Bank Resources Limited and immediate re-engagement by the new service providers including the “new Skye Bank Resources Limited” to be henceforth known as “Optimum Continental Services Limited”. This transition will address the varying concerns that have been expressed by employees in this category, particularly with respect to career growth, job enrichment and employee welfare, amongst others.
Please be assured that the process of selection of these organizations was rigorous, bearing in mind that the best interest of the present crop of Outsourced Officers as a priority. The Bank’s Management is of the conviction that the right choices have been made. It is also pertinent to emphasize that regardless of this transition, Officers in this category shall continue to play a vital role in the actualization of the Skye Bank vision.
To this effect, I urge Officers in this category to give their full support to the successful execution of this transition arrangement while extending their usual courtesies and cooperation to the Management of the newly appointed Independent Outsourcing Companies.

Finally, we need the intervention of Federal government to look in to all Outsource Staffs in all Nigeria Banks and enforce policy on Nigeria Labour Law. It is not peculiar to Skye Bank only. The Nigeria labour Principal officers are weak and full of corruption.
