Hello everyone, for honda 1999 and above.

Honda has the best gear among others, but many people are not aware of the secret.
If you observe any or those fault in your Honda gear. The only thing to do is to get a good Honda mechanic, tell him to remove the two solenoids also called gear changers ( see the picture below). These solenoids are have filters like engine filters, they are two on the gear box. They need to loose the air filter component and battery before you can see them on the gear box. The two solenoids get clogged over time and that’s normal to remove or prevent dirts from entering the main gear.

So when these two solenoids get clogged, there will be a restriction in the flow of oil into the gear and you begging to see all these various symptoms like delay in gear changing, blinking, gerkings etc.

Also the mechanic should test the solenoids with battery and two wire to see if the pumping system is still working, because if the clogged dirt is too much it would have damaged the solenoid pump. So in this case you have to change the solenoids.
After the cleaning it is better to change the gear oil as this indicates that there are dirts in the gear oil.

I recommend oando dextron III from a good oando filling station .
Stop buying oil on road side shops to avoid buying fake.

Don’t just rush to change your gear. I pity many people who have dropped their gear for this little reason.
Many mechanics don’t understand this basic no matter how expert they are in other aspects.

Does this include Honda civics 03 to 05.. Because the civic I have now as transmission issue. And I was told to buy new transmission.. So are u saying instead of buying new transmission, the mechanic should change the solenoid and get new gear oil..

Infact major things that we don't know ehn, my brother am not a mechanic though. But I use Honda Accord 2004 (e.o.d) around early last year and I tell you when the transmission problem start ehn, I tire for life self. But I know those mechanic did not know anything the moment the gear still works but some times it won't even enter d4 at all only reverse be driving the car like manual for almost a month before someone told me to tell my mechanic to remove the gear switch and one other filter and then service the gear. My brother the car was Hale and hearty back after being told the gear don go patapata. I will just tell you to just let us know how the transmission is doing and I tell you someone who may have similar issue would be here to help out. And kudos to you all for the reference and informations you are giving us we really appreciate it ����

From experience bro, not all blinking D Light is caused by Switch.

I have EOD 2005,

The gear won't shift pass 2nd gear, will just rev uppppp with no speed.

So when I want to gain speed, I put in gear 2, drive till speedometer reaches 40, then I switched back To D.

Now, the D light blinks also.

I had changed all sensor, changed the Selonod. Although didn't change the second gear switch, the one by the side of the gear oo

Same ish.


Here's the symptoms for mine.

When u first start car, it changes 1st gear, but won't go pass that,

Sometimes it does, thats like once in 3weeks.

So the gear specialist said he would need to change the fiber.

Or I buy new gear.

I even brought in someone to scan, although he didn't give the codes, but he said the issue is with the gear and not the switch.

I have put the car up for sale now. I can't kill myself

Low ATF is one among many causes of blinking D lights.

--Clogged or dirty transmission solenoids.
--Faulty input or output speed sensors
--Burnt or dirty ATF.

Can also be a factor.

I have a Saturn Vue V6 Automatic transmission. It was converted. it has Toyota camry pencil light engine and gearbox, I am having issue with the transmission gear, its not selecting gears, we changed the Brainbox, we changed the gear sensor, speedometer is working perfectly but not selecting gears.
My rewire said the problem Could be a wrong wiring from people that did the conversion the first time. Could this issue be attributed to wrong wiring? or could anyone help with perfect solution to this problem. If you can recommend who can fix this problem I will be apply. Location: Lagos.

I called Ayodele Bishop ,he change the shift soleiod and bought Honda transmission fluid .. It was easy fix for him ,very easy bro .. He did well ... He is on nairaland, call him for more details..
