Information reaching us says that the Boko Haram
prisoners who were pushed to Ekwulobia prisons in
Anambra State about two months ago have now
been relocated to Abakaliki prisons in Ebonyi State.
According to the report, the Boko Haram prisoners
who are 47 in number were moved out of the
Ekwulobia prisons on Friday night and secretly
conveyed amidst tight security to Abakaliki prisons
the same night.

The news of the relocation of the deadly prisoners
to Ebonyi State has created fear and worry in the
minds of the indigenes as well as other residents of
the state.

Meanwhile, the state Governor, Engr.Dave Umahi,
has dispelled such information, noting that he had
earlier received a text message concerning the
shifting of Boko Haram prisoners to Ebonyi State but
after making some calls as regards to that, he
discovered it was not true.

However, some Ebonyians who have confirmed the
presence of the Boko Haram prisoners in Abakaliki
prisons have said that the governor had chosen to
be dilomatic in his statement inorder to reduce
tension.
