Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos has appointed Mrs. Olabowale Toluwalope Ademola as the Head of Service (HOS) in the Lagos state public service.

This was made known in a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Mr Habib Aruna. The governor approved the appointment of the 19th head of service following the retirement of Mrs. Folashade Jaji on Monday, October 26.

Mrs. Ademola who was born on November 10, 1957 had her Primary Education at Corona School, Yaba and Lagos University Staff School (1962 – 1968), after which she proceeded to Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos where she obtained her West African School Certificate and Higher School Certificate in 1973 and 1975 respectively.

She proceeded to the University of Ibadan where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (second Class honours – upper division) in economics in 1981.

She has a Master of Science degree in economics from the University of Lagos and Master’s degree in business administration from the Lagos Business School. She is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.



Mrs. Ademola joined the state water corporation as controller audit in 1995 after several years in the private sector. She was later transferred to mainstream civil service in 1999 where she rose to become permanent secretary in 2010.

She was the permanent secretary in the Lagos state civil service pensions office until her appointment as HOS
