[b]PELLEGRINI PRAISES HIS CHANGED TACTICS


City produced one of their finest European performances to thrash Seville 3-1 in Spain.

Goals from Raheem Sterling, Fernandinho and Wilfried Bony fired City top of Group D and booked their place in the next round.

Pellegrini hailed his own tactics afterwards after leaving out record signing Kevin De Bruyne and moving Fernandinho into a more attacking role.

The Chilean admits he wasn’t happy with City’s recent performances and that his changes worked a treat.

He said: “I’m very happy because it was almost the complete game in terms of technicality and tactics.

“We had good possession and could have scored even more goals.

“I was not happy with the way we were playing so I changed the system.

“All the players played well. People ask why Kevin De Bruyne didn’t play, but its important to change the team sometimes.”

City still have to face Borussia Monchengladbach and Italian champions Juventus and Pellegrini wants his side to win the group and avoid one of Europe’s big guns in the last 16.

He added: “It’s important to qualify so soon, but we will still try to qualify in first position in the group.

“It’s very important. Not the most important thing, but still important and after this we must hope for a good draw.”[/b]
