I think we United fans need to admit that we have lost a bit of our cutting edge, even from the last few seasons under Fergie. That was a major reason why he brought in Van Pierse who delivered for one season and then seemed to fade away. Getting back to the level of our glory days in front of goal may take a while and might require the addition of an exceptional and creative striker who can make something out of nothing. It may take Martial a couple of seasons to get to that level. The positives I take away from these "boring" games is that we are not shipping in goals as much at the back as we did under Moyes. Hopefully, we'll sort our problems out over time. Throwing money at the problem won't necessarily solve it either.

Tone down your expectations guys.

As a coach you need to rotate your team, especially when you feel you can handle the opponent without some of your best legs. Herrera needs to be rested every now and then so he can be fresh for stronger opposition. Rooney on the other hand needs games like this as some sort of rehabilitation process, in the hope that he can get some goals to boost his confidence. But when he didn't perform he got subbed.
